The cave was always only partially the issue, the choke at SHGY was always the bigger issue.

IMO, the biggest issue with AV is the lack of Alliance participation.
AV was dominated by Alliance on my Battlegroup all through TBC and WotLK. It was our cash cow for honor. I typically threw the marks away because they were so easy to get.
Teamwork, communication and adaptation outweigh any racial or map imbalances. Just gotta get Alliance to realize that.

Sounds like the same thing our pre-made does…
In a match with perfectly even teams horde should win every time in AV assuming they don’t play the zerg meta.
