I don’t see how using a feature is against COC. Like you can tweet it too.

I think what is against CoC is him seemingly calling you out by name maybe since he cross linked. But just the action of cross linking doesn’t seem like it would break COC.

I am pretty sure that the reason cross linking is a thing at all is probably so that if someone asks a question and it has already been answered (maybe by a blue even) then people can link to that instead of trying to explain it over and over.

I remember reading that post. We aren’t sure if the gear is usable in the next expansion and I agree that predictions of doom for the future without proof is dumb. You can be angry and you can think whatever you like, but at this point everything is conjecture until we get it on Live.

But valid concerns like Hardwire expressed are something I agree with and admit that I am concerned about as well.

I feel bad that you tried to argue with someone like that. It’s clear they’re just making things up to push their opinion into being right.

Yes, because AH mounts are SO advantageous that’s the ONLY mount people are riding.

People are getting upset over something that DOESN’T need to be upset over…it’s ridiculous.

And this particular instance is just a poster taking an argument from one thread to a whole new thread just so they can get people in on it instead of just debating in the actual thread, which I am pretty sure is not something they want.

They should just remove the water walking equipment, make it to where water striders keep it but are unable to use equipment.

Same as the Sky Golem.

It’s not like everyones gonna pick water walking. Personally, i’m getting the anti-daze armor and never taking it off. I’m a Priest, I’ll just float over puddles.

I don’t think there should be anything wrong with pointing out someone’s lies to establish a more cohesive debate about topics that are important to people.

By changing the subject of the topic of a thread, you derail the OPs original intent, and blur the communication lines to the people you want to help you.

This community is terrible at effective communication.

The fact that you’re upset about someone pointing out how ridiculous that is really saddens me. It’s like you’re protected from ever being wrong, and everyone around you must submit to your ideas.

Debating over a make believe scenario that isn’t real is literal insanity.

When a child is having a temper tantrum, you don’t pander to that - you somehow teach them that acting like that is obnoxious, and isn’t socially acceptable.

I’d rather not compare people to children having a temper tantrum, but I clearly don’t see a difference. Perhaps if someone could logically explain to me how making up a scenario, then getting mad about it, and then spreading it as fact isn’t having a temper tantrum, I’ll be happy to concede defeat here.

However, that is what is happening, and I’d be happy to link multiple other threads where people are doing the same thing.

What you don’t realize is how validated a person feels is not important when it’s damaging our ability to have a community at all. If the goal is to kill the player base by spreading false rumors around the web, then this forum has done an outstanding job.

But that’s disgusting, and the people participating should feel ashamed.

It’s conjecture though. Context of the argument matters dude. Again, move on from this thread and actively debate the person. You’re just making yourself look bad because you’re not looking to have a conversation or debate the matter, you’re looking to have an argument.

First of all, it’s not a temper tantrum. I don’t think you’ve been around enough to see what a tantrum on the forums is actually like. Secondly, it’s not your job to teach anyone here what you deem is “socially acceptable” or whatever. The forums have rules and guidelines for what is acceptable. Third, calling someone a liar when they speculate is really bad form.

So debating a possible outcome is somehow insane, but making a thread to trash talk a specific poster is somehow sensible?

I don’t know why I should move on from the thread I made. I want to discuss the people and topics that are corrupting the WoW community. This is a perfect example of one - that’s why I linked it.

This absolutely is a temper tantrum. Same with the portals being removed, and people complaining that they’d have to fly an extra 23 seconds to get to the caverns of time. Not to mention the massive amount of people spouting falsehoods, that portals that would still be available, were being taken away.

This is what this community does. You create outrage, your breed it, you let it grow, and eventually, the topic ends up in 15 or more click bait articles around the web, that all have incorrect information. People READ those things, then they come to the forums, they go to reddit, they whine at streamers, and bring up points like one person did that are false:

“BARDINGS ARE DEFINITELY GOING AWAY. ALL EXTRA MOUNT ITEMS ARE BEING REMOVED FROM THE GAME”

Just like the articles that covered the removal of the portals.

“ALL PORTALS IN WORLD OF WARCRAFT ARE BEING REMOVED. THE PLAYERS ARE OUTRAGED.”

These aren’t civilized discussions that warrant the use of the word “conjecture”. This is outrage over ideas that are false, with an intent to rouse the powers that be to make changes you demand. It’s mob mentality, it ruins communities, and as I said before, you should be ashamed to be a part of it.
