So we can try to be as positive as possible, but with the way the prior warbank issues were handled if there are not items you absolutely cannot lose I suggest holding them in your bags on patch day.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see things from void storage, reagent tabs or possibly even your regular bank get lost.
And there were literally people who lost items and/or gold during the warbank transfer who submitted a ticket and got “unfortunately there is no way to restore that.”
I sometimes wonder if the reason for the vanished items wasn’t actually a bug but some furtive effort to cut back on storage space, or maybe adjust the economy, or something.
Never can be too sure these days.
Oddly enough, although my banks are near full, I can’t really think of any “must have” items. A lot of the stuff I kept are just stuff I felt like keeping at that moment.
You aren’t wrong, I have so much junk. I may actually sit this weekend listening to a stream or YouTube and clear out any characters’ banks it’ll be a fun trip down memory lane
When I cleaned out my massive alt and prehistoric character list, I was surprised to find 2000 solid shot and enough ethereal credit among them to buy the full soul trader outfit.
It was also warbanks, neither happened me to but I’m playing it safe going forward.
Some people literally lost hundreds of thousands of gold and Blizz couldn’t restore. Keep in mind the people weren’t lying they showed screenshots of tickets
What they should do but won’t is grab all the items from banks and put them in the mail to each character same as they did at the end of MoP remix, just fill the mailbox of people with the contents of their banks. That way it can’t be lost. They use the same approach for emptying out people’s bags when doing a character boost that replaces their bags, put the contents in the mail. It seems to work well. So it’s a tool they have and their refusal to use it will be very suspicious to me when the losses occur.
