PSA - Maintain Forum Trust Level 3

Ooh, how difficult to maintain it!

Oh, something else I just thought of and not sure who else has experienced this. I got a notification once that a post of mine removed. Guess I said something I shouldn’t have or it was flagged. Problem is they made no mention of which post it was so I had no way of knowing what I did wrong. It didn’t affect my trust level because I can still post links, videos, gifs, etc…

I think the big hurdle for me is likes. Just not a lot of comments that I actually like enough to “like”

So in order to increase my Trust level, I have to act dishonestly. SMH

Trust levels don’t matter at all unless and only unless you want to post links without having to put the ~ in front of them or unless you want to post memes.

I don’t usually do either so I don’t really care. I don’t think anyone should.

Things will change though. It’s already happening to other sites/platforms that provide a forum based chat for all to use.

Really? How does that work? Is it just a chat box?

Post count for level 3 is extremely minor. The posts read and days visited in a 100 day period is the big part of the requirements.

I’m not sure 30 likes is a huge hurdle. It’s not even 30 per 100 days, just 30 ever.

I’m sure someone else answered this, but yes. Trust level 3 people can post links to other websites unhindered, and can post gifs / images. Like this one I often use in threads where people whine now and again.

I didn’t make sense. What I meant to say was that the platforms that are social media will be changing and this change could affect these forums.

oh ok :frowning:

If the text on the screen is tiny, and you are using chrome, holding down ctrl + mousewheel up it will increase the size of text on your screen. Like wise scrolling down will shrink it.

Only da Loa be earnin’ trust level tree in ma eyes.

So did I. I stopped reading/posting for a couple months. The requirements to do x per 100 days are things that have to be maintained. I don’t really care too much, I never had a need to use anything level 3 supported, and it’s likely i’ll float in and out of level 3 access pretty often due to my forum activity trends.

Still don’t know why this is a thing or why the system doesn’t even warn you. Or why you need to jump through hoops to figure out the bare minimum information. It’s a silly system.

First, there’s no way to really track what category you’re slacking on that causes you to lose TL3. Your stats don’t reset every 100 days, so good luck trying to figure out how much of your current numbers actually count. Like for me, I lost level three the other day. I currently have nearly 40k posts read, but I have no idea how many of those actually count towards this current bracket of 100 days so I have no idea how many more I need to read to get TL3 back. Second, it doesn’t really encourage forum participation in a meaningful way. Instead it just encourages low-effort posting (err… even more than usual) and auto-scrolling through big threads. We had plenty of that when everyone was trying to achieve TL3 in the first place and I guess they want plenty more.

People might say the benefits of TL3 don’t matter, and generally they don’t, but being able to post links and images is invaluable in a place like the technical or bug forums. That and it’s kind of the principle.

Methinks that you’re incorrect, because I can post videos, but not links.

You can post links if you have trust lvl 3. You only have trust lvl 2 if you can’t post links still.

It’s a whole thing.

You can post links and videos as lvl2, but only to “trusted” sites. Trust Level 3 lets you post links and videos to any site in addition to being able to embed images.

Perfect! I could never quite put my finger on it but you have.

Well articulated. :slightly_smiling_face:

I had my trust level 3 on my other account and lost it - which would Blizzard really like to have “time played in the game” or spending all of my time on a forum that you don’t even need to be subbed to post on? Hmmm, decisions, decisions.
