PSA, if you aren't 44 yet you aren't even half way done leveling

Just wanted to let you guys know that if you haven’t reached 44 yet you are not even half way done leveling.

if this is a shock to you let me explain.

The levels start to increase in time required (XP required) non-linearly. This means that later levels require vastly more XP to gain a level than earlier ones.

In the 50s each level may take you 3-5 hours PER LEVEL.

So just factor this into when you think you will be done leveling. I know it seems like you’ve made it when you hit 40 and you feel like you are almost done but you aren’t really even half way yet.

That is the beauty of classic.

The leveling is a huge part of the game and you have a lot of time to enjoy it. I’m in my 50s and loving it.

Thanks for listening.

Does loving it part includes fighting over quest mobs with 100 other brain dead zombies who don’t even want to team up.

I’m not fighting for mobs in my 50s. I’m past the casual bell curve.

I’d imagine most people aren’t even 40 yet.

Just look at Drinknblink. He is just getting to 40 and he is ultra casual. So if you are behind him you will have issues tagging mobs.

Word buffs.

In 50s it’s absolutely a slog with every single mob dead on every single layer bc Aggrend is so unfathomably lazy he can’t press a button or two.

Thank you for attending Frosstfire’s ted talk, where he talks about whatever madness is going on his brain at the time.

Yeah, like, you know? It’s just… yeah. I mean, absolutely, because when you think about it—like really think about it—it’s kind of like that, right? And not even in the obvious way, but, you know, in the way where it’s just, like… yeah.

Because, okay, sure, but at the same time, it’s not, you know? Like, when you really break it down, it’s all just kind of there, but also not there, which is, like, totally the point. Or maybe it’s not, but still, you get it.

Right?

Corporate speak as they lay off their last tech support stating “restructuring”

Some areas sure. I’m about to hit 55 and have found plenty of areas where I can grind in peace.

If you’re not 44 yet, odds are pretty good you struggle to understand why we say “roll down the car window”

While everyone scratches and claws at the way to 60, I’m leveling a new character.

The 20s feel very quiet now its nice.

Probably more than 3-5 hours per level once you hit mid 50’s unless you’re chain running BRD. Maybe if following a speed leveling guide that tells you where to go you can do close to that questing. But you need over 250k xp starting at 54. 59-60 is 353k. 5 hours would be 70k xp an hour, probably a lot more than most are doing. If I can hit some dense quests I’ll get around 40k an hour but the quests start to get a lot more spread out in the 50’s and I end up traveling a lot which kills your xp an hour.

real talk though, the people who are 60 right now, did they dungeon spam most of the time? :expressionless: or did they really just do the typical solo / small group questing thing 24/7?

The mages in my guild already 60 spammed ZF until early 50’s and then spammed BRD. Probably SM before ZF. And Stockades before that.

They dungeon spammed almost exclusively. Even as a casual you should dungeon spam 50-60. You level and get prebis at the same time, massive time saver.

yeah, makes sense, because even if I did my basic solo/small group questing play 24/7 except sleeping, I wouldn’t be 60 by now I don’t think :expressionless:

You would be 60, if you like grinded naga in stv until 50, then trolls in hinterlands until 55. There’s just not enough quests to hit cap, so grinding in one spot for hours is just so much more efficient. So most just go dungeon because you aren’t fighting for tags.

this is wrong, and a common misconception :expressionless: you just have to zone hop a lot more than people want to do

The time you spent going to the next zone, you could have leveled again just grinding. That’s the thing.

correct. just mindlessly grinding dungeons / mobs is more efficient than questing. :expressionless:
