Hello friends, I am extremely excited to announce that I’ve accidentally found a workaround to a problem I’ve had since Classic launched!
Back in the day, I would often fish with my camera zoomed in on the fishing bobber so it was huge on my monitor. This allowed me to have my attention on other displays while I fished. I could watch Netflix or read forums, etc. You used to be able to fish this way with no problem, but when Classic launched, a single right-click (even if it’s ON the bobber) will turn your character to face in the same direction as the camera, meaning that you’d need to reposition your character every single time you cast Fishing.
Last night I accidentally discovered that if you fish while sitting, right-click will no longer turn your character to face the same direction as your camera, even if you right-click + drag! This might not be a big deal for most people, but I know that I’m not the only one who fishes this way, so I wanted to make a thread to share the good news with anyone who didn’t know!
I always have this mental image of this large room of full of devs at Blizzard HQ that are just lounging around, drinking, cube-crawling, laughing at RDF threads and yawning at reports about game-breaking issues… Then they see something like this fishing thread and someone smashes this red “Fun Detected” button, suddenly there’s lights flashing and a big “AaawWWWOOOGA!!” siren blaring and all the devs scramble to their terminals stumbling over empties and sweating bullets all over their keyboards while desperately banging out a hotfix in record time.
Yet in reality we all know that dev room just has maybe one unpaid intern in it.
