I used to always just login and ignore it as it would put me in worse gear then I already had on. But they upgraded the ilvl to 327 now for a level 60. So it’s actually worth using the feature now, even though to me the bags are useless as I have bigger 1’s and I tell it not to delete my quest log.

Oh good to know. Thank you. I have a few alts in the 60-70 bracket who I plan to finish leveling over the next few weeks.
I wish they’d give us a way to turn off the “upgrade”. I just want to keep my low level garbo toons parked at their spotted for mount farming runs. One of these days I’m gonna accidentally use the upgrade and bam! There goes my hearth.

Though, didn’t that mechanic break/delete some other stuff as well?
Does it still completely ruin your action bars? If so I’m still out.
The gear upgrade still resets my action bars, which is so irritating. I do use Bartender if that makes a difference.
My other problem is not allowing us to choose which weapon type to use as part of the gear update. I have a lot of frost DKs in my warband on various servers. It’s extremely important to me to always use a 2h as frost. The gear update had the wrong weapon type equipped (2x 1h weapons) and I got very upset, especially after Legion/BfA. I never want to see a 1h weapon on my DK ever again.
Pretty sure you can just deny the upgrade. It’s not (or wasn’t) a forced choice as I have a few toons who also are parked in specific spots for specific reasons and getting the pointless upgrades wasn’t worth having to redo my bars since DF quests gave better anyway.
Donʻt they give you a package with gear for your other specs?
There should be a 2h in there for Blood and/or Unholy that you can use
And personally i dislike having to reset my bars after an upgrade. The gear is usually a little better than what i had on before except for the 22slot bags. At least its not Netherweave!
In the past it stripped everything from equipped/bags and mailed it back to you… I didn’t know it would mail it back and I initially thought “why would they delete my hearthstone and reset my action bars?!”
I have a boosted toon I might experiment on, but unless they fixed the action bar reset, I probably wouldn’t bother.
I didn’t see the package with the other weapons until after I finished the gear updates. It turns out that there is a display bug in ArkInventory that kept me from seeing most items. There is an alpha version released yesterday that seems to fix that display bug, so now I can see the package with the other weapons.
