PSA : Evoker ability to move the player is being abused

So for starters before I get flamed, let me get this out of the way, YES i realize I was in a PUG using LFG - I was actually running heroics to help other people get geared.

Here’s the backstory, I am a TANK - I enjoy TANKING - and i never leave early - up until now. I just left my first instance before it was finished, let me explain why -

I was running academy - I have done this instance about 20 times at least if not more. I can pull this place with my eyes closed and with my level of gear it’s currently EZ-mode.

So I queued up to help some people, I didn’t need ANY gear from the instance. I just like the instance, it’s quick and fun.

So now to said group, Evoker healer - CONTINUALLY (yes i know it’s on a CD but he must have done it every time it was off) force pushed me into mobs WHILE i was even tanking other mobs and again I don’t go at a snails pace. I go pretty fast.

I politely said , please do not move me. I was not in danger, I have almost 500K hp, there’s nothing there that can beat me (i even once solo’d Vex from 75% to dead…yes yes i know it’s heroic but still proves my point, I am in no danger)

TLDR; don’t move people unless 1) they are in danger 2) they are standing in something they shouldn’t be - IMVHO - it’s very rude and inconsiderate -

This particular evoker probably did this at least 5 times and after asking nicely to please stop and continually tossing me into engagement, when i have specific places I like to go to skip some trash and have it down to a science, I said I’m outta here. and left. I can no longer say I’ve never left a group, oh well.

Be more polite as a community.

Same thing happened with priest yank, it’ll fade once the newness has worn off; just report them and initiate a kick vote.

Report them for using an ability? Just leave the group and move on with your life.

That’s what I did - It just annoyed me to the level I wanted to make sure other evokers at least on the forums understand not to abuse that ability

Vote to kick and maybe Neural Silencers? Evokers and Priests are trolls.

Sure, why not? It isn’t like they’re just healing him or something innocous, they’re actually negatively impacting his experience and taking away agency and control of his character after he repeatedly asked them not to. Pretty much textbook harassment. If someone asks me not to rescue them even once, I’m not going to use the ability on them. Seems fairly reasonable.

He shouldn’t be the one that has to take a leave penalty and suffer consequences for it.

I just had a idiot evoker myself in my group while I was tanking and they were constantly moving me whenever it was off their CD just to troll and messing up the flow of my route. Really annoying, Blizzard needs to remove this ability.

Lots of abilities do this by design. I don’t think this is a concern for Blizzard.

Exactly. They didn’t ban people for lifegrip, and that was being used to kill people, unlike in this example. They’ve already provided the solution ages ago with the SIlencer.

It shouldn’t cost the user gold to have to keep buying them to not be trolled by evokers pulling you off cliffs since they are consume on use. It should be a toggled permanent item or Blizzard needs to remove the ability.

I spec’d into this JUST to be a troll to my friends. And I do it with Lifegrip on my priest, too. We use a three-letter word that’s outdated for this modern version of WoW: fun.

(Though I admit doing it to randoms in the middle of a fight without justified reason is pretty rude. Out of combat, though? FAIR GAME FLY MY LITTLE BIRD FLYYYY)

I understand where you’re coming from. I’ve sent many of my friends to the Dalaran crater (super fun after raids). But I’d never do it to a pug.
