Doing so will discredit you as a viewer and will not earn progress toward drops. If you want to continue to earn drop credit, but not listen to the content, then the tab the stream is on in your browser.

How do you check your progress?
My first drop was muted and I just checked 2nd drop and it’s paused. Unmuted and it started working again (progress is under your profile icon, top right)
I muted the tab and am getting progress.
Mute the website from the browser tab and not the UI
Click on your profile pic then select “Drops & Rewards”
You mute the tab or mute through the windows gamebar for that tab process.
I muted it on the player at 2% and it’s still muted and I’m at 8% now. So I am still earning progress.
Or just watch it on your phone

I have it running on my phone with the volume turned down to 1 (just in case).
that, I started on my pc browser then moved to my iPad. but i can find a way to monitor progress on the twitch app
Muting works fine, I have it muted on google chrome and Im getting progress.
exactly. muting tab is fine, muting the stream itself can mess it up
