Sabyrr Teagoat isn't going to be able to respond if there's nothing new to add. It's either got to be Watcher himself or Watcher giving Teagoat info to pass to us. Without one or the other, there won't be any blue posts.
Remember, Teagoat's the messenger. Not much he can do without a message to deliver.
Let's face it they are just hoping this thread dies. If the few of us left leave it is no skin off their noses. They have dug in their heels and are not going to back down.
It is the new Blizzard MO. Do something people hate. When the forums explode extend the thread. Then ignore it until it dies.
I hate it but that is how it is anymore. They don't make games for the players anymore they make games for themselves.
its been that way for a long time

Absolutely spot on! Whatever these devs do is inline with their extended vision of this game regardless of whether it is good or bad. They use the time old tested method of "ignore complaints until they go away" to deal with the fallout. And, not enough players leave to make a dent in the blizzard wallet. And the ones that do are the ones Blizzard wants to leave the game since those players are mostly veterans with extensive knowledge and expertise regarding classes, specs and the game in general, those who are not "yes men," and those whose playstyle are not going to be supported in the future.
If they are truly making the game the way they want and a game they want to play, then these devs, Ion and his minion are very shallow, narrow-minded, and mindless. What is engaging about kill X times 15, kill X, gather Y times 20, follow the squares to make a pattern times X, multiple "facebook" type games, gather herbs and ore times thousands to engage RNG to find a "possible" additional rank in gathering, and the partridge in a pear tree of other "engaging" world content? What is "fun" about gating content behind time? And, what is fun about earning faction rep to then have to earn additional rep for an RNG chance at a mount?
There is such a thing as appropriate reward for effort. That goes out the window when RNG is added on top of RNG. What one person may get after 10 times, another person may not get after 100 or more times of doing the same activity. Then, when mob ilvls increase as a player gears, it then places another hurdle for players to overcome which then breaks down into being disparaging to some classes/specs more than others. If these devs, Ion and his minion find this fun, they need to seriously evaluate their definition of fun and then get out and have some in the real world.
While mob ilvl scaling may be "tuned" down, which can be debatable since it is inconsistent across zones and mobs within zones, it won't stay that way since that "knob" will provide continual temptation for Blizzard to turn it whenever they see fit. This issue is the same as CRZ, camera zoom, camera field of view, flight, and the continual revamping of classes/specs, and all the other issues players have expressed their dissatisfaction. It falls upon deaf ears while these devs, Ion and his minion give players the middle finger and robotically repeat, "suck it up, buttercup -- you scrub you."
Believe you are correct. Surprised they let this thread get to 221 pages tbh. Anyhow very good post:-).
Honestly, Blizzard is literally just hoping that we will forget about it. No. Unacceptable, this scaling must go. It doesn't matter how little it may be, any ilvl scaling is bad.
Blizzard needs to wake up and smell the coffee, the problem is with itemization and how many tiers of content they keep pushing out. All this scaling garbage is literally just masking their mistakes.

Reapz Isn't the whole point of RPG's to level up and get stronger? Since when do mobs lvl up with us.
Ever played an Elder Scrolls game?
At least in Skyrim the combat mechanics are fun. I don't feel like I'm about to get carpel tunnel from taking down a tower full of bandits, either.
ESO has a similar combat system to Skyrim but the way mob aggro works in ESO is the same way it does in WoW. It's WoW with Skyrim combat and I hate it.

Pretty much.
I'd love to say I had the discipline to stop playing, but i began alting. So I'm not voting with my dollars/played. Unfortunate.
Legion's great in a lot of ways but the legendary system and ilvl scaling are absolutely terrible.
It's sad as a lot of us are loyal customers. I miss the days before the activision partnership.
This has nothing to do with Bliz not caring, it has everything to do with this not being an issue. I could write letters to the government about how we should start putting green dye in the drinking water so it looks cooler, but I won't be surprised when I don't hear back.
A friend got me into ESO this last week. The difference in quality between it and WoW is mind-boggling. WoW should blow it out of the water due to the sheer amount of revenue the game rakes it, but in reality, it's the exact opposite.
I unsubbed from WoW shortly after I logged in for the first time and haven't done anything in WoW but log in for 5 minutes to que my last knowledge and a couple missions. I don't really miss it anymore. The incredible disrespect the WoW devs have shown all of us on this issue and others has me genuinely angry any time I think about it. ESO is like a vacation from all of their toxicity.
I can handle bad design if it's an honest failing. I can tolerate things taking longer to implement and fix than they rightly should provided they are eventually addressed, but when they started outright lying to us is when the line was well and truly crossed.
When you're driving people away who routinely played your game for 10+ hours A DAY, you must be doing something seriously wrong. I have never in my life had dealings with anyone who had more contempt for their fans and paying costumers than the WoW dev team. It seems to go way beyond simple apathy. I think they actually enjoy causing people to be miserable.
I told Ion when this all started they wouldn't get away with burying this issue. I told him they can't do whatever the heck they want. As with everything else, they ignored that too. So when they get kicked off the MMO throne for treating their playerbase like garbage, I will be right there to remind them WHY.
I can't believe that these guys are such children and are still stroking their collective egos on something they promised they would NEVER do. They have no honor, shame or care for the game. It's absolutely disgusting the lack of attention this has gotten. FFS, they promised it was never going to happen. I can't wait to see their answer if someone asks them about this at blizzcon. Or if they make another "promise" and then someone calls them out by saying "Oh you mean like the last promise you made about never adding ilvl scaling?" I know they are not fools but one has to wonder.
I want to see more current information from Blizz on this topic so I gladly reply to keep the topic relevant. This is why I quit playing GW2 because if you have no power progression then it takes away the entire point of gearing which is the entire point of mmorpg's. Find treasure. Equip treasure. Get stronger to find better treasure.

I don't know why any of us still pay for this game. The devs lie about things, ignore player feedback and refuse to even acknowledge they made mistakes. Hell, they even double down on the biggest mistakes they make. The dev team collectively are behaving like sociopathic narcissists who are trying to claim the success of those who came before them as their own.

Vreivai sociopathic narcissists
I can confirm the absolute disregard for the feelings of others. When normal people are made aware that an action they have performed has had negative effects on an individual(s), the perpetrator seeks to diminish or eliminate the harm done if possible. With the team, it's the opposite. Begging them to stop a certain course of action because it's making your play experience miserable seems to only increase the behavior with absolutely zero attempt made to minimize the harm done.
And no, the fact your actions affect potentially millions of people is not a perfect shield against the moral responsibility of the design choices you make.
People who have genuine empathy would not be capable of either pushing this change through knowing it's genuinely harming people or ignoring this thread. I would know this, because I have empathy, and by far the worst part of all of this isn't Ilvl scaling being such an obnoxiously bad idea, it's how it was handled.

For me it was investment. It kept me around for far longer than I'd otherwise have stayed. I genuinely felt like I could get them to understand my side of things. A desire to simply have FUN, and help others do the same. Instead of giving them perception on a concept of fun that deviated from their own, it turns out I was giving them a target list. It appears they are utterly incapable of accepting the inherent validity of anyone's idea of fun other than their own, and see those differing views purely in the context of problems to be eliminated.
I hate to say it I have been really trying to enjoy this game. I feel like its more the attitude of the devs that bothers me more then the actual implementation of this feature. They are flat out liars and overall just dishonest people. I feel like ever since early WOD they have acted like egotistical children unwilling to listen to what players want and instead create their vision.
I think I am done for awhile if not for a long time. Every day I log in I just get mad and frustrated over all the negative changes being added to this game. CRZ/Sharding/ilvl scaling/pathfinder/etc. They are constantly making changes to the game at the sacrifice of gameplay to make their job easier/cheaper.
I am not here to scream about firing them or anything like that but they need to be put on another project, demoted, or if nothing else given a stern ultimatum to either start listening to the players or find another job. You would think the sub counts should be enough reason to get somebodies attention at Blizzard. The fact they won't publish subs anymore is a pretty good sign at where things are heading.
I wish I could say I'm surprised this issue has not received any further updates. It would have saved a lot of people quite a bit of grief if they had been honest from the beginning that this was staying in regardless of anything the playerbase thought about it.
Definitely creating another Warlords situation where I just avoid the current content entirely.
They are silent because they were caught in another lie and tried to back peddle with lawyer like language, the language of those that are guilty yet use words to hide it.
It is human nature, they are scared and embarrassed about being caught.

IS or WAS? Can you see a jury liking him? LOL
So if they want to remove player progression are we just going to get to of those pesky levels too? Christ might as well just take out the whole class and race idea too, and have eveveryone have every skill and passive. I know there are people upset they didn't get that sweet piece of loot so now everyone gets one identical item in every slot.
Because reasons.
There now the devs have nothing left to do and they can go ruin another game.
Lol.
At this point I just want an official yes it's staying or no it's not. No more of this psychological game BS Blizzard's playing with us. Just one straight answer. This is the second full patch I've not logged in for because of this, and if it's remaining, I want to know now so I can plan my entertainment accordingly.
Edit: Double post thanks to forum weirdness. :P
