Since Blues aren’t doing this, even though it has been asked to.
There is a “known” issue going on where if you purchase a Name change service your character’s name change will error out and you will be forced to continuously re-enter a name change every time you log in, or it will not allow you to log into that character.
from what we are being told. There is no current solution, so people have been dealing with this for days if not more. Would be wonderful of they disabled the option for name change or at the very least announced it to the community as a known issue banner. “We are currently experiencing an issue” type stuff so the community does not fall into this potential trap (no confirmation if this is every character but there are several posts about it on Customer Support.)
So, if you are looking to do a name change, CAUTION in doing so as you may be caught up in this and have to spin the wheel of names and waiting for a dev ticket response for 9+ days (current wait time).
I’m glad you posted this as I’ve been on the lookout for certain names to become available. Now if they do, I know to just reserve the name and wait until this is over before name changing my character to it.
Ah that reminds me of the guild transfer breaking if the target server had the name taken and some people being stuck in limbo without that guild accessible or even that character for months.
I’ve had to do a name change every 1-2 hours this past week due to this bug. The GM replied in the ticket and said it was because of the specific name I was choosing to rename but it happens with any and every name (I’ve tried tonnes of different names).
I came back for DF but every login I have to redo my ui and addons so I’ve just dropped the game at this point.
What’s worse is the defense force (many who don’t even sub to the game) is in top gear defending the lack of notification and blaming players for the problem
