Dire Maul, especially on large servers, may affect prices for high priced items. Demand may flatten, and try not getting stuck with a hot potato.
Auctinatoreers: avoid getting burned by ‘sniping’ an item in the next few days that might plummet in value.
Better yet: be careful dealing with players who have lived off the AH, who are eager to unload items for a “steal”
The great Google God of BiS fevor has spawned a massive oversupply/hyperfocus on certain items. Some are even trumpeting items with “fake news” about their values altogether, according to some.
For those planning to gear for phase two, do your own research with experimentation (duel!) and dont buy the hype that you must have certain items to raid, or even to do group wpvp.

TLDR. Dont get duped. Be careful buying ‘touted’ items with big price tickets. AH history needs to attune for market changes.

why cant I just use full set of shadowcraft to raid MC?
One wing can be farmed for herbs right? What else tho? Some crafted gear becomes useless?
While I agree with the general spirit of your post, I should point out that dueling is an absolutely worthless metric in so far as gauging BiS lists compiled solely with end-game PvE performance in mind.
As an example, Warrior BiS lists are rife with leather and mail pieces, with a large focus on AP, Crit, and Hit, which are important for getting all those numbers in a raid scenario.
Conversely, it is also ideal for getting your teeth smashed in if you try to take that 3k health pool into a PvP situation. You’re a plate class without any of the survival mechanics that Rogues and Druids have, a glass cannon combat rogue with no evasion, blind, gouge, vanish, or even a modest base dodge %.
Your best measuring stick is going to be Simulationcraft if you’re strictly pursuing numbers.

Im on PvP. I dont think duelling is entirely useless for PvE, as you can refine rotations, and most importantly collaborate with other players.
Duels are a solid birthplace of those BiS lists. It goes: 1) duel result 2) beg winner for layout 3) repeat winner’s layout to world as BiS. Funny thing is - winner already trying something new, and pushing with different layout by the time people think to google “BiS warrior tank Skarm” (who incidentally and awesomely is druid tanking instead) skarm is a speedrun example, but same goes for the pvp half

With DM: gear disparity gaps, mostly for armor and accessories, narrow, creating more supply for a slot that will improve by a tiny fraction, using overpriced and overtouted BiS gear. Market hoarders are notorious for listing devalued gear after an expansion, relying on a BiS listers inexperience in finding suitable non-raid, non-bis gear.
Id recommend ditching BiS lists other than conversation starters, but I know that would trigger minions of the Church of Meta, armed with YT vids and parse driven spreadsheets as their holy word.
At least on my server arcanite bars, pristine black and azerothian diamonds all went up. Paladins need that stuff for their mounts. I got it all way before dm release, so i am lucky enough to have saved quite a bit of gold

Lasher farming is dead… but yes some guy has been trying to sell Deepfury Bracers for 150g on my server for a while now… I saw yesterday they were posted at 90g. Hopefully people knew better.

Same here*. Demand going up for those items as people hit cap? DM probably wouldn’t affect those mats.
*Price checked: Actually, Faerlina supply been steady so prices relative to economy seem ok. Watching close.

One of the wings of DM is supposed to have some rich thorium veins at the end, but i havent run the dungeon yet and dont know how many blizzard decided would be blizz like to add in.
But even if it is 3 veins, the drops rates are so damn low it probably wont make a difference still

LASHER UPDATE: Related thread in forum discussing lasher farm nerf. I cant recall link via streamer but someone mentioned 1.10 nerf to Lasher gold drops and I knew they were nerfed but couldnt remember when.
Im not in DM to confirm, but I bet they still drop herbs and junk just fine.
