A very helpful customer service rep has confirmed that you can ONLY get the mount from a recurring subscription.
You can not buy 180 days and apply it to your account. This has changed since the dreadwake mount you were able to receive it with bought game time.
He said he has no idea why it changed, but you do need to have a 6 month RECURRING sub in order to get the mount.
Hopefully this helps some people.
Why would you buy 6 months of time, at regular price instead of the “recurring” which is discounted though? Am I missing something?
Was the same price for 180 days of game time as it was to buy 6 months recurring.
Even if it was slightly more expensive, buying the 180 days allows you to use tokens or battle.net balance to buy it.
If this is about Squeakers, the Trickster, the new Lunar Festival mount, it is also sold individually for $25 (no subscription changes required).

I mean probably, I do not see the money incentive as you receive the same amount of money and keep people subbed for the minimum of 6 months.
Either its cheaper for them to process recurring subs or they are banking on people to forget to cancel their 6 month renew?
Yes it is about squeakers, and yes it is sold seperately. Just trying to help people out who might try buying some tokens to up their game time AND receive squeakers.
I got a 6-month sub back in july and i got the rat. next resub is in february.

I understand you can buy it with tokens for 25 dollars. I do a monthly recurring sub, and do 1 6 month sub if a mount comes out with it because ill probably be playing anyway.
I had a card from gamestop that was gifted to me for 6 months, and it wont work because it is not recurring, which goes for battle.net balance as well. Just trying to give people a heads up.

Blizz didn’t want people using gold for their game time to get a free mount, so they changed from just game time to a subscription.

What about those of us who have had a sub going for years without a lapse? We don’t get anything, or am I missing something? Seems kinda screwed up on the priorities.
You think they want to make less money? Cos buying 6 1 month subs is more expensive than buying 1 6 month sub.
No, that was more of a reference to them having a 6 month sub with a credit card count towards the mount but not if you pay up 6 months in another way (like a game time card or with token>balance) .
I’m paid up until the middle of next year (yes, 2021) and i’m not eligible for the mount.
