Protection Warrior Needs More Utility Or Damage

All other tanks seem to have more utility or damage than us.

We need either a heroism (class-wide) to bring to the group or a more frequent Rallying Cry or even a bootleg version of wind fury totem (Bannerlord ability from SL is cool too)

Also, remove our stupid stances and just give us the crit, move speed reduction and damage reduction baked into Protection. It’s not engaging or amazing gameplay to use these stupid archaic relic abilities from 15+ years ago.

I definitely agree, I’d like to see some things to make prot warrior stand out from other tanks. (and the option to transmog a 2hander and shield)

If you don’t mind me asking, why don’t you like the stances? I don’t have any issue with them and I like them as Imo they add a little bit of flavor.

We cant offheal, we don’t do the most damage, and we arent even the most survivable tank.

We bring a 3-minute 15% temp health buff and 5% attack power buff. Nothing else.

They nerfed our damage and survivability back in S1, why? All we bring is damage and survivability!

Prot Pallies and Guardian Druids bring offhealing and utility. We have neither. Also stances are not engaging. They don’t bring anything to the table other than "Do I want to not die on this trash pull or boss and have my DPS chunked in defensive, or do I want to actually contribute damage but punish my healer in battle stance)

They got rid of stances for Prot Warriors for a time, and it was actually one of the better changes.

I can see in the context of M+ for sure, as I don’t really run M+, but in raid, I haven’t really had to ever switch into Def stance except for rare occasions, (Broodmother, Raz p3 tank soak). Even if it was pretty much required to sit in def stance while taking the boss I like the idea of switching stances on tank swaps as it makes sense, while not needing to be tanky, we switch our attacks to be more reckless and heavy, but when we need to mitigate damage we play around our shield more and are not as worried about killing the thing in front of us. from a flavor perspective of course. Though of course in Mythic raid I’m sure there would be a lot more sitting in def stance.

M+ like I said different story as I’m not too familiar with it. And of course gameplay trumps flavor so if a majority of warriors don’t like stances I wouldn’t be disappointed about losing them.

Or male lust and brez for all class and spec then that means warrior will get it too

Bet some warrior will argue that unfair and only warrior should be added the the class with lust

I agree with stances needing to go away. OR make defensive stance be damage reduction and like 2% versatility or 2% parry and 2% dodge, but no penalty to our damage. that would go a long way. As for utility, maybe make demoralizing shout be “20% damage reduction for the warrior and 5% for everyone else in the party” so it’s not 100% uptime but it still is a mitigation cooldown for the whole group. Rallying cry could provide 5% haste or crit or something for it’s duration, to give healers a little extra oomph to get people topped back up, or maybe provide an absorb shield as well as max hp, sorta like how the vault 4pc worked, a % of the damage the prot warrior does during rallying cry is applied as a shield for allies, and the talent to improve rally would make the shield be a little stronger. there’s plenty of ways they can just iterate on the abilities we have without flat out adding new ones that would work.

Sounds better than what we have. The damage penalty was orginally for PVP to prevent Warriors from sitting in D-Stance the entire time.
