Shadowlands gave me PTSD as a protection warrior. I trudged through it. Now I got to deal with this again?! It’s like they don’t look at their own metrics.

Who says Prot War is F tier? Drug test them.
Edit: Unless this is a raid thing, if so I wouldn’t have a clue.

I’m playing warrior because I’m the only one in guild to give the buff. Otherwise I’d switch to bdk. But I just really like blood.

I’ll go out on a limb here and guess OP means warrior in general and prot warrior compared to any other tank especially is not very desirable in 5 mans.
Warrior provides nothing to the group except being tanky.
Warriors have the lowest self sustain.
No group utility (off heals, dispels, displacements etc…).
Mob control( silence, interrupt, stuns etc.) is just okay.
It has okay damage but bear, VDH and prot pala outdamage a prot warrior.
The only thing they have going is being incredibly tanky.
In s1 we saw, when tanks had low gear and struggled, survivability made prot the best.
After the first 4 weeks of DF, all tanks started to be tanky enough. Therefore being more tanky provides no further benefit.
This leaves warrior as a tank that can survive, but any other tank provides more to the group. Extreme amounts of added value actually.
But maybe he means something else completely

Responding on my Warrior even if you replied to my Shaman.
I think he means in raids. Prot Warrior is pretty solid in M+ for the keys the great majority of us are going to do. Tier lists are also pretty comical half of the time. I view them more as a tool to garner views than actual information.
However, a raider friend of mine that is heavily into subcreation has told me that Prot War is F tier in the raid.
I honestly don’t know if or why prot warrior is bad in raids. I don’t play that content at all.
But I wouldn’t mind hearing why. Maybe it is for similar reasons as in M+.
It was never about “can prot do the content”, more like “why would you ever take a prot warrior when any other tank (except maybe BDK) is heaps and bounds better”.
It does not matter if it’s a +5, +10, +15 or a +20 or even higher.
Group utility and all the good things puts agency in the players hands to help the group.
Warrior providing nothing (tank or dps warrior for that matter) just offloads all responsibility (dispell, offheals, lust, brezz, the 2 new affixes, any utility really) to the rest of the team.
Is that a Problem? Not in a perfect world.
Can warrior do all content? Absolutely.
Is any other DD or tank more desirable than warrior? I am afraid so.

Warriors are fine for mythic plus. Their lack of instant CC or dispels is a bit noticeable but their burst DPS and AOE silence is till very strong.
On raid…who cares at this point everything has been cleared already. If a guild doesn’t take a prot warrior now if they need a tank, they have more issues than your tank choice.
Blizz does not like warriors being strong. When they are really good it does not last even a patch cycle and they are nerfed to mid/bottom. Their design team does not like warriors being better than pally, DK or DH, and it’s always the way it will be, and has been.
