Yeah exactly, but they straight up said they wanted to change it and the player base went and played it the exact same way because… they could.
Not because that’s what Blizz wanted.
AS not giving HP is a pretty drastic changes, one aimed at changing the paradigm around SotR uptime and yet they made this change without supporting it with actual changes to talent that made us want to spam SotR in the first place.
So they made a change with an idea in mind that they never bothered to fully materialize and now we have this thing that, against all odds, still works but is NOT coherent with their STATED goal.
And they never bothered to walk back those comment, so again, we don’t know what they want out of Prot pally.
AS is still not giving HP, we’re still at very high uptime of SotR.
They failed but the changes they made to “make it happen” are still there and only hinders the way people are playing the spec instead of enhancing it.
And this disconnection is made evident by the exception they made for Divine Toll, where AS kept it’s HP generation.
It doesn’t make sense.
They say one thing, barely do anything to support what they want and even undermine themselves by making an exception on DT.
It makes no sense, Prot is disjointed, it’s not coherent, at least not to the level of other classes.
And that’s to say nothing of the class tree issue which just pile on to it.
It’s a castle made of cards that could crumble at any given time.
