I am a casual tank, never go beyond heroics and hate questing. Currently I am max skinning and herbalism. I have two profession alts for alchemy/ tailor and enchanting/ leatherworking. In the bank I have enough herbs for inscription so was thinking going scribe/ skinning. Not really interested in JC or engineering as I don’t care about min maxing
A lot of people will probably tell you to reroll.
As for professions, if you don’t care about minmaxing, just go with whatever. Engineering is just really fun with lots of toys on top of being one of the best, too.
A lot of the YT videos I have seen discussing the BIS professions for each class/spec suggest JC/LW for prot warriors. It’s apparently the combo that you can get the most stamina out of.
If you want to lean more towards profitable professions I would highly recommend mining/herbalism. Blacksmiths, Engineers and Jewelcrafters will always need ore, Alchemists and Inscription will always need herbs so you could very easily turn a nice profit just going double gathering.
Pie- I love playing a warrior and the protection spec in Wrath is fun. This is a game I play for fun
Prot warriors are the best dungeon tanks in Wrath, you shouldn’t reroll if you’re not raiding. They are super fun.
As for professions, I’m biased towards engi since it’s so much fun with all it’s gadgets, but you can be inscription too and make a niche there.
It makes more sense to put the crafting skills on main character and the gathering ones on alts. This is because reputations have recipes. As for which ones to slot, go with whatever you want. There’s no need to care about min/max in wrath. They all have decent bonuses. I plan to go alchemy/jewelcraft because drugs and gems are something I’ll always need more of. Most will go for engineer simply because the “bis” lists told them to but then realize their performance is barely any higher in actual practice.
i am in the exact same boat. some pub raids too but rarely
I am picking tailoring for the carpet cuz I think it’s funny to have a tauren warr on a flying carpet. Also it has a cloak buff so it’s not 100% useless for warr.
Undecided on 2nd one but will probably keep mining or maybe get herb
Well, there are some things you can do herbing alchemy is good for cheap flasks, and a dk can become a gathering alt starting at lvl 55. meaning alchemy for the flask and I guess engineering on the main not to tryhard, but because it genuinely is a good profession with bombs and fun on use things.
If your most difficult level of content will be Heroic Dungeons in Wrath, then I wouldn’t be worried about professions aside from what you think sounds cool.
The official answer is “Go Engineering”, and you don’t want that answer. Just do whatever, you can do Wrath Heroics naked
Then do whatever you feel like would be most fun for you
Unless you’re sweating top rank, realm first, speed run, there’s no need to worry about min-maxing if you don’t want.
