Prot Warrior Nerfed hard - prot pally not touched?

that was so brutal to see. like there is no way that they are that tone deaf.

It’s clear though that they are moving towards tanks being indestructible again, which I don’t really like. This is part of the problem where they go from one extreme side of the spectrum to the other.

Every tank is getting 40-50% mitigation proc on damage taken. That’s insane and I have no idea what they are thinking by doing that.

at this point i honestly dont know.

I played 3 keys in DF S3 and took the entire season off because I knew where it was headed. We will see what S2 is like I guess.

It’s pretty sad that when we point out it has been 3 expansions since prot warrior has been in the meta, people are always quick to say: “you had the first half of the first season.”

News flash. The first half of the first season is literally meaningless when everyone is under geared. Of course the tank with the highest white swing mitigation is king. Prot warrior hasn’t finished a season as ‘meta’ since Battle for Azeroth.

Why? Because they don’t have any worthwhile group utility, and their damage has been/is mid at best. They need something to bring to the table.

The rage nerfs are quite heavy. I can see them balancing the skills and IP, but the CDR loss will hurt warriors alot.

“It is because of the damage!”

Check Mythic Stats . com

11/14 weeks Prot Paladin has been top damage. Misinformation.

Obviously we are talking about Mythic plus. You don’t even have AOTC on your prot paly, why are you posting raid stats?

Why do I need to have AoTC to post stats? It’s relevant because these are actual logs and parses from tank damage which clearly shows that Paladins were not top damage pre-patch and ran away post-patch.

Talk about moving goalposts.

Also your “check mythic stats .com” doesn’t lead to the direct page where it shows the difference from pre and post patch.

Mythic stats shows by week lol. As mentioned 11 out of 14 weeks Prot Paly has been top damage. It has been top damage since week 4 (October 8th) . You clearly don’t care about raid, which is fine, but you are being disingenuous by posting raid stats and acting like you are an authority off that data.

No goal posting moving. This is obviously a discussion on mythic plus and you provided irrelevant data to back up your incorrect claim.

Is only counting the very top of the bracket. This does not represent the playerbase. It’s counting the top 1% keys which is also skewed by the fact that a very small portion of the population logs M+ runs compared to raids. Which is why looking at the raid averages tell a better and more accurate picture.

Even if you look at your data:

9/18 was the start of season 1 with the patch hitting on 10/22 week 6. We are on week 14 now. Obviously we are going to have more weeks of being top since the patch hit 8 weeks ago.

Lets look at the numbers pre and post.

Week 5:

  • Paladin: 698K average
  • Warrior: 663K average

Week 7:

  • Paladin: 807K average
  • Warrior: 639K average

Try and tell me it’s not cause of the damage post patch. We now have both raid logs and M+ logs that both show a substantial gain in DPS post patch that ran away from the rest.

My main critique so far is that reducing rage generation will not make spending rage any more meaningful or deliberate. We will still need to dump rage into Ignore Pain, but there will be less rage to spare for other abilities such as revenge. In the sense, it will have the opposite result imo.

Unless revenge or execute are buffed, or there is a diminishing return from spamming Ignore Pain, then spamming Ignore Pain is even more of a no-brainer.

Well this thread got hijacked by some prot pally discussion.

Let’s keep it on track please:

  1. The nerfs to prot warrior - the tank with the least amount of utility - are unwarranted.

  2. Create a game with balanced tanks, as not all of us are willing / able to play the meta tank when doing higher keys.

Please support this post in regards to these two points!

Cheers

Read the title.

Of course Blizzard’s pet class is safe. If anything, expect to see buffs to all three specs before the patch goes live.
