With all the changes to classes is there any chance that Blizz will finally make the Prot Warrior viable in PVP? Sword and Board should have a Role!

No Tank ever should have a role in PvP ever, ever that’s a poor excuse to PvP . If you can’t heal or damage then download another game or stick to pve.

I appreciate your comment; I feel tanks should have a role in PVP, they are a part of the overall game just like DPS and Healers.

Sorry, but gotta disagree with you and take OP’s side on this one.
All specs should have a role in PvP, tanks included. No reason to limit options.
I don’t main prot in PvP but it sure is a fun change of pace to play it sometimes. Unfortunately, looking at the ptr changes to rage generation and Dragon Charge, it looks like a fairly heavy nerf to Prot.

This is just so ridiculously wrong. I can only assume you mean “I don’t like when tanks in WoW are viable in PvP because it makes matches feel like a slog”.
Every person should be able to participate in PvP in their favorite role. It’s Blizzards job to make the content work.
Tanks are just support. They provide health the same way Healers do, except they do it by taking the hits. Granted, because Blizzard can’t figure out how to design team, objective based PvP anymore, they opt to reduce the tanks ability to do just that in PvP. That’s not the tanks fault. That’s not a weakness of the role. That’s WoW failing to rise to the challenge.

in rated BGs they are pretty good no?
It’s fine in Blitz.
Bad in 2s due to lack of ms, like most things.
Has potential in 3s with a select few partners, likely things like windwalker, havoc, surv/bm, other warrior specs, etc. Basically any healing reduction spec.
Obviously fine-good for random battlegrounds, wpvp, skirms.

Define viable. Top Prots are 2400 in Shuffle and 2900 in Blitz.

Ye, and top of ladder probably gonna be like 2500-2600 and 3200+ as we near the end of the season.
