I’ve tanked in all previous expansions and recently picked BFA back up a couple weeks ago and decided to tank since I hadn’t when I played the expansion earlier. I’ve also tanked with just about every other class besides warrior, so it’s all been new and fun to learn. However, I find myself struggling to maintain threat at times with multiple mobs, which I never had an issue with on my paladin or DK in the past expansions that I tanked. I’m not sure if it’s just that they made tanking more difficult and challenging in BFA like they had talked about (which is not a bad thing at all) or if I’m just doing something wrong. I’ve watched a bunch of videos and read up guides etc. and it seems like I’m doing everything right. I constantly spam thunderclap, hit revenge when it procs, and keep up with my CD’s.
-This is also besides the point, but I had done some research prior and read that prot warriors have generally not been the best designed spec in BFA and with that, issues have trailed along… but that could be completely irrelevant to my threat issues with mobs.

The issue is at 18 inches from the screen, aka you. Warrior is derp easy to get dem agro now… its a joke really. You are most certainly checking outdated guides or I dont know what… because its near impossible to lose agro as one.

You need to clarify.
Are you losing threat during avatar when you are spamming tclap every 1-2 GCDs or outside of avatar when your multi-target damage is more limited ?
Are you losing threat against similar geared people to yourself (ie. relatively new 120 character) or someone significantly higher than you with way more gear + essences ? Something like your average 430 havoc DH will blow you away in threat simply because they are doing way more burst multi-target damage.
Are you using your various procs optimally outside of tclap such as free revenge and shield slam cooldowns ?
Your gearing so far is fine with some decent haste, punchcard trinket and a BOM azerite trait. You can pick up a quick navigation enchant for your weapon and 2x haste enchants for your rings. I know you are still gearing up but enchants are cheap these days (due to relatively easy availability of mats). More BOM traits will help as well as any additional traits that proc haste or give static haste (blood rite, meticulous scheming, overwhelming power, etc.).
Essences are also extremely important, particularly the VOP major for avatar procs and increased avatar availability.
Couple of tips for you.
Before pulling a mob you want to avatar>ds>tc and as soon as you get a revenge proc use it to spread deep wounds
For mobs that target a melee other than taunt make sure you make an intercept macro (target’s target; cast intercept) to intercept the DPS and focus the mob to pull threat back to you
For mobs that target ranges other than taunt you can spam heroic throw (high threat ability) as well as heroic leaping as heroic leap resets the cd on taunt.
