Prot pally

What’s my basic rotation when I pull a pack of mobs?

Need more threat? Consecration.

Keep Holy shield up on CD.

Righteous Fury active always, Avenger Shield pull, Drop Consecrate, Seal of Righteousness when your mana is good, if its low use Wisdom. Keep holy shield up as much as possible.

The vast majority of prot pally threat is passive through holy shield, consecration, and ret aura. There isn’t a complex rotation per se. Pull los if possible so casters run to you, and as they’re approaching drop consecrate so it can start ticking for threat. Have seal of righteousness applied and judge it on the first mob. This will generate substantial threat on the first kill target. You can reseal and begin auto attacking the remaining mobs tabbing through and monitoring your threat, judging righteousness on kill order targets or any that are low on threat. Dps are free to aoe after a few ticks of consecrate.

Prot pally tanking in tbc is more about positioning and learning los to cluster up the mobs for maximum aoe effect. You don’t want to charge into a large room with ranged mobs and drop consecration in the middle unless its range will hit everything. Even then, I like to los so they’re all nice and bundled up into a murder ball for the dps.

This is fine for now, but shield is a noob trap.

Ty all, I need more int gear atm, ingonoom fast af.

Keep in mind, with TBC gear, it will get far far easier.
So I played Prot Pally in TBC Classic. Here are my 2 cents:

Misc notes:

in TBC, once you get a Spell Power weapon, threat will become far far easier to manage.
As time goes on, you will also get better at your mana management. Then you will be able to go 3-4 packs without sitting down and still being top damage and threat.

Good luck and have fun!
Effective dungeon prot paladin does have a learning curve, but once you get a hang of it, I promise you people will notice and you are ought to get complimented. (Literally, I had people add me to friend list in TBC launch because I didn’t go oom every pack and people loved the speed runs I was able to provide)

Hope that helps! Have fun! You will have a blast as Prot paladin. I went Rdru this time, and kinda regretting it already lol.

Ty I’m playing druid as well, I did a big no no, by boosting my pally , something I should have leveled from scratch to learn.

at least ramps is pretty easy so when you do the dungeon in tbc you aren’t overwhelmed by learning.

:cherries:

pull more mobs then, the more damage that is healed the more mana you will have

you will be fine. paladin is historically easy. easiest tank - paladin. easiest dps rotation - shadowbolt warlock. easiest healer (without totem twisting) shaman (chain heal spam). I guess paladin is super simple for healing as well actually. but anyway i got off topic. Once you figure out how to bunch your pulls up and where to place your conc’s, you are golden.

Yes for sure, obviously try to be smart with the shield. Dont just go throwing it in every single time lol

Thesalyn pretty much nailed it.

Why big no no?
Boosting pally over Druid was, technically, a better pick.

Best class to boost is the class you are going to play, really.
But leveling as a paladin is far harder than as a druid.

What druid spec are you going?
I’m Rdru, I can’t comment on any other specs. Only resto.

Prot paladin is hella easy. It’s practically 5 buttons. You got it. It is very rewarding too.

I’m doing heal/tank druid and tank pally, warlock/hunter dps

That’s a lot of characters to maintain and keep up with.
A lot of raid nights too.

Just make sure you don’t burn out. I stick to 1 toon per xpac, unless I get really really bored and then I do 2nd toon, but never 2 at the same time.

Heal tank when I’m solo, dps when my buddies are on.

Yeah, it’s fine. Just be careful not to burn out. It is a serious WoW problem, even for veteran players.

It happened to me as well. The only way I’ve managed to sustain myself in WoW this long was by cutting down on the play time and characters. At first, it seems fine, but eventually life gets in the way and you will notice it. Just keep your eyes open if possible. Don’t overextend yourself.

I rotate between this, retail, Runescape and old-school runescape. When I get bored I go to another for a bit.
