Prot Pally questing in Outland get easier?

Almost 61. And im having a difficult time. Gear is still spotty except some decent items from half of HFP. Was wondering if it gets easier? Having to drink to refill mana after every mob.

Not sure if I should just level in dungeons and go back to questing once im over leveled for the area?

I recommend grinding Thrallmar rep in Ramparts/Blood Furnace (until Honored) before doing any HFP quests. Then grind Cenation Expedition rep via Slave Pens/Underbog until Honored --OR-- turn in CE items until Honored. Then you could grind Consortium rep via Mana Tombs until Honored.

Basically, as a Protection Paladin, you will always be in demand for dungeon runs, so save questing until you hit 70. Grinding experience and reputation via dungeons is much more efficient. Then you can more easily handle the ‘green’ quests.

Make the effort to grind Sporeggar rep to Honored ASAP – you want the shield for Honored rep with the mushroom men. Get a Khorium shield spike on that and you’re golden until raiding.

Other than getting dungeon rep maxing at honored. Is there a benefit to reach honored before questing?

Is there a rep vendor to buy gear from? Thx for the tips!

You get more gear a such makes the questing later eaiser abs faster.

Questing later at max makes you get more gold from them in following the normal optimized route it leaves 7800 gold of quests left in Outland for max level to get your flying levels.

Questing after instances means you are at rev or greater after questing to be heroic attuned a vary important step as if not heroic attuned you really can’t do much so you will be redoing wha thou could of done while leveling by running those normals at max but now without getting exp.

The reason to grind rep via dungeons until honored is because you will stop gaining reputation from kills once you have achieved honored status. Then you do the quests. it’s just a matter of most efficiently gaining rep to Revered status (when you can get the key for heroics and PVP gear, if that’s your thing). Some factions have turn ins that you can do in lieu of some dungeon grinding (to honored).

To be exact at honored you don’t stop getting rep from kills entirely.

You stop getting rep from kills in the low level non 68 plus instances this requires you to do the more difficult instances to get heroic rep vs doing the easier runs that give exp at the same time and better gear so vastly more effective use of time.

Gets much better. You will be tanking multiple mobs down once you get some gear, just sucks around 60

You gotta treat quests just like AoE grinding. It’s the fastest, most efficient way to level. If you’re questing, gather up as many mobs as you can and burn them down the Prot Pally way. That being said, if I’m killing mobs solo I’m usually able to do 8 or so mobs before needing to drink. It does get somewhat better, but regardless you shouldn’t be fighting one mob at a time. If you’re gonna do that you might as well be Ret

protadins either AoE farm melee mobs
or spam dungeons since they are the hottest commodity in this expansion

Regular questing can be very very slow and painful

You got me thinking was this ever not the case after TBC? All my memories that Prot Pally is always BiS from TBC onwards.

well TBC was where paladins filled a spot others had a hard time doing so but not being the best on Main tanking raids

on LK all tanks could do the same but paladin had an auto ressurection that made them THE best tank on everything for LK

Skipping out on thrallmar quests doesnt really matter for a prot paladin, you are going to be running shattered halls forever for your figurine, i went from honored to exalted before I ever saw mine drop.
