I’ve been wondering what is the stat priority?
I saw its h
Haste mastery and versatility…
But there is no cap for haste correct? So what should my stats be at?
No one really has the answer and I’m at loss here
I do icc rares and all I see are versatility on the gear…
So back to my question
What should in your opinion should 8 be comfortable with??
Thank you
Homelander ex leader of the 7
Probably better to wait until 60. Scaling is off below level cap and you wont be level 50 for more than a week. Stat weights will change in Shadowlands.
Wear the highest ilvl gear you have to level.
Mastery vers get as much of it as you can.
Kyrian will probably be best. Shield of righteous will hit hard at max soulbind rank. This is also the best pve soulbind.
Night fae is really good too. The blessing are really strong but you lose sor burst.
what are you guys running for talent builds on this? arena, BGs, and worldpvp?
broke out my paladin yesterday and im having blast with protect! Im coming back from a break so have been trying out all my max classes and prot pvp im having a blast with. trying to decide which route to go with him but I definitely think ill be leveling him first
your damage in sl is way less than in prepatch
I currently have no azerite or corruption gear. so im not sure that is exactly true. my power should only get better from here unless there is something im missing
Not true, You made this same odd blanket statement in the other thread without any reasoning behind it.
You should go this route… below
Haste overall is pretty bad in PvP, Mastery/Versa is the way. Kyrian has the best soulbinds for synergy since it’s Mastery/Versa then Divine toll is just amazing fun.
Talent wise Divine purpose to smooth out gaps in HP generation and extra 20% on heals/dmg only would take Seraphim for burst set ups when you approach stat DRs since it’s a flat 8%.
With that said there are tons of fun options utility wise so SL should be interesting but lets get into Season 1 of the expansion before we really start diving into the builds. I am sure more buffs/nerfs are going out to everyone and what talents you pick will be to counter the Meta of what you are facing. So we need to see what other classes are strong to make our build.
ok hotshot wait and see unless rextroy comes out with something our dps will suck right now we are living on bfa borrowed power
Rextroy isn’t a Dev so he has no influence on our Dps. I do love his vids though and again as someone that competed with Prot in PvP from a mechanical and Dps stand point SL looks great.
I don’t know if being #1 Prot Pal in North America on Ally in RBGs last season and #4 overall makes me a hot shot, just someone who knows their class. Which is why I am asking you to explain your position because it doesn’t make sense and perhaps I can help you with a build.
Prot Pal is ranked #2 in Tank Dps in PvE. Our burst in SL is way higher than BFA making it formidable in PvP. Again you aren’t making an actual point by not stating “HOW” our Dps will suck in SL when everything points to us doing more Dps.
Everyone uses borrowed power as part of Class power in BFA and then in SL it switches to the new systems. So in SL Prot Pal has some amazing borrowed power even better than BFA especially for burst.
Divine tolls is amazing dmg and lines up great with CDs in PvP. We have Bulwark of the Righteous Fury Legendary that gets fully charged from Divine toll. Then punish the guilty conduit to further amp our SoR to hit for massive damage after we use judgement. SoR hits for more damage in SL than anything hit for in BFA.
Furthermore with the switch to better talents and Holy Power Prot is far more diverse and smooth to play. If you can kindly specifically state why you think our Dps will be bad because mathematically what you claim just isn’t adding up.
Prot Pal Dps in SL is better than it was in BFA and the fun thing is there are more ways too Dps as well with different build options.
Sort of a side topic but related nonetheless, I have been playing and enjoying Prot in PvP during the last part of BFA, but I have NEVER seen as much hate and trolling as I do while playing it (esp. in Arena). The other day in a skirmish my rogue team member in 2v2 trashed me before the game started and then didn’t fight. When I died he tried to troll me hard. It was funny but why all the hate? I hear the criticisms being “boring” or “too ez”. Have you Prot PvPers experienced the same?
People hate Tanks for no reason and Prot Pal is very good countering the Meta and can compete at a high level. It’s just meaningless hate. It’s hilarious that some players think they have more skill playing a Rogue or Mage
I don’t listen to the naysayers just drink their tears and keep having fun. I play this game to play Prot in PvP and have done that since TBC. So that isn’t going to change.
I couldnt careless about pve and if you arent using the concentrated flame macro which is half or more of my damage your doing it wrong. of course I dont hide my profile
You should care some about PvE because your core balance is done by PvE and a lot of gearing is also done thru PvE and being able to easily attain M+ gear and Raid will be pertinent.
Imagine telling someone that actually competes in PvP with Prot at a high level that they are doing it wrong.
This sounds like you don’t have a great understanding of mechanics, math or how gear/builds work. Again something I offered help with but it just sounds like you are bitter about something not working in your casual PvP that you do. This is a “YOU” problem not a Prot Pally problem.
You still aren’t making a relevant case about anything with your limited experience.
Yes your profile reveals you are using the wrong Traits, Talents, Enchants, lack gear, sockets and have no competitive PvP experience. You should of stacked Mastery and be using Mastery traits/Enchants with Holy shield all of BFA. It’s clear you aren’t aware what makes Prot Pal so strong.
It isn’t hard to look someone up just type it in search. Again I played at 2500 MMR in RBGs against the top players/teams in NA. I also played at 2300 MMR in 3’s. Again last season #1 Prot Pal in North America on Ally in RBGs and #4 overall but hey… I’m doing it wrong
Here is my profile but using the look up feature is too hard? Probably why you feel stuck in your situation you can’t make adjustments in the casual content that you do. Once you understand the Class better your Dps will go up. It’s very clear you look to other players to follow their builds which is fine but you aren’t qualified then to comment on the state of Prot Pal PvP.

Let me help you out some here is a very detailed Prot PvP guide by Lumaca to give you a better understanding how Prot works in PvP. It was posted in these very forums months ago. I suggest reading that guide then commenting in there to learn more about PvP and what will be strong in SL for Prot. Good luck and criticizing everything for no good reason won’t get you very far.
Ohhh btw if you don’t have any Screen shots that look like this. Then you are probably the one that doesn’t know what they are doing. This was in competitive RBG too at 2200 MMR FCing where I hard countered a caster cleave Healing for 48 mil cause of Holy Shield. I still managed to kill and pump Dps while FCing too. Notice my mastery at the bottom. Yea that is where our dmg comes from FYI. In SL Prot is more than fine.
