So I have heard that due to the reworking of prot pally talents set to happen when pre-patch hits, strength becomes one of prot pally’s main stats in wrath (due to a talent that converts strength into spellpower and the increase in strength to SVB conversion).
I’m wondering how this will impact the Season 4 tier choices. I see there is already a spellpower set but also the ret set already has a lot of strength already. Does anyone have any knowledge about which would make for a better Wrath prot pally dungeon leveling set?
I mean, ideally you just hold onto your T6 gear. The Tier 6 prot set gets reworked into strength + defensive stats instead of SP.
If you HAVE to gear through PvP, the strength set will be better… but not by a huge margin. In fact, your lack of defensive stats will definitely show in larger pulls, so be careful when you are tanking UK. There are some moments in it where you can get spiked.
If you already have a set for prot then it’s fine, if you’re moving up a tier in pvp gear as an upgrade then pick strength as it has other bonuses that raw SP doesn’t.
If you’re using a PVE tank set the SP will be removed from the item pre patch and put in strength.
So you can’t really go wrong, most sets will become valuable in pre patch.
