Prot Pally Conduit Nerf

Just curious on peoples thoughts on the recent announcement on the conduit nerf to sheild of rightousnes damage. I personally didn’t have this conduit but it makes me wonder if this was the primary reason to get the fury bulwork ledgenday power. I’m more of a casual tank so i’m not to worried about this but wanted to hear peoples thoughts?

First thought is they need to rebuff the SoR Legendary if they are going to nerf Punish so hard. Which would make the Legendary actually feel Legendary.

I am running it as my main build haven’t been logged in tonight but can say this nerf hurts something that was super fun. Granted was doing some really fun big numbers. Just hope Blizzard doesn’t nerf everything that is fun because why play if it doesn’t feel amazing and OP.

I mean I have hit a 16k SoR in PvE and did delete a MW monk with an 11.9k one in a BG. It definitely brought the boom which was really fun. Now will have to rework it my build some but it should get decent dmg back again as we stack Mastery.

On a side not if too much gets nerfed I will like play my main game and just idle in here so I am not behind.

Edit - My final thought is this. They nerfed Vengeful into the ground so no point in taking it. Now they nerfed Punish into the ground so no point in taking it. SoR legendary with Ring Clarity it is. Don’t understand over heavy nerfs making it not a viable option anymore so you have to reroll conduits. That is bad balance and leaves no options for fun gameplay.

Wow…to exist in the alpha, then the beta, for so long, that people can make decision on the covenant - and then nerf it this hard…it’s unbelievable, honestly.

I get it - prot paladin WAS strong - but people put in time and made [what feels like] a permanent selection to their character based on the long standing of these talents/abilities.

If this is a show of what’s to come…I’m worried.

this is what they do. they make stuff super OP so you come back to the game and buy back in. Then once u start investing time they nerf stuff and hope they have you hooked enough so you dont quit.

Pretty sure they’ll nerf WoG healing when Arena starts so my pally is done, time to level up the DK or Warrior and not craft anything that looks fun or interesting.

May I ask what your Maine game is?

This is why I have held off on crafting anything yet. Unbelievable that they nerfed our conduits before a nerf to rogue conduits and legos. Sadly this is only the beginning of the covenant and soul bond chaos. I can see this circle of nerfs going on for awhile.

No, most of these class changes are due to PVP. Why would this be for raiding, most prot pallies wont even be running the SOTR Lego for raiding. On top of tht, prot pally in PVE is laggin behind DH, Druid, Brew when it comes to high M+ keys nwz. We already got our Armor nerfed pre patch for god knows what reason considering we’re still one of the squishy tanks.

When WoW went downhill I got tired of this rat race and needed to find a new MMORPG to play so since 2016 I been playing Entropia Universe. I only played Legion for a month and didn’t play BFA really till 8.3. When this game is bad I just leave for a year then come back when something is fun.

I’m an older gamer been playing Blizzard games for 20 years but tired of this Activision junk so I found a new home. I like that game because it’s unique and a Real cash economy and I like the idea of making money playing something fun.

This change along with the nerf to WOG healing was a bit mind boggling to me. I’m still confused why paladin armor was randomly nerfed. They should have at least waited until normal/heroic raid release.

So…I have all the gear, 184 conduit, the legendary, AND am Kyrian. No doubt, this is a gutting for this conduit. But is it an over reaction to reroll covenants off this nerf? I feel like the damage from SotR was more noticeable from avenger’s shield than judgement anyways. For sure the damage is down now, but could Kyrian not still be decent?

What would you do in PvP as night fae may I ask? (Along with conduit choices and lego choice.)

@Watcher @BlizzDevs
PvE shouldn’t be balanced around PvP.

PvP needs independent balancing.

This Conduit has gone from top spot to useless. Other conduits are now better which makes this a dead conduit.

Funny, not funny, how Ian says they won’t nerf over powered classes or abilities into the ground and that they would still be the best option should a nerf occur.
Considering this conduit is not the best option and has been nered into the ground has determined the statement by Ian to be a lie.

People have chosen legendarys to craft. Some chose legendarys to craft based off the synergy with this conduit. How can a blanket nerf bat be justified when it makes peoples all important “meaningful choice” one of regret.

This is the real issue. All the conduits should be compelling choices to make a fun build. This nerf makes Punish worthless I actually put in my green Ringing Clarity conduit over the 184 Epic Punish. So now both Prot potency conduits are terrible and can’t be used. Meaning there is ONLY one choice which means there isn’t a choice at all. You have to take Ringing Clarity.

If there are no choices then they should remove the dead conduits and add new ones if for some reason they didn’t like what they were doing and felt the need to nerf them into unviability.

RPG games are about choice if there is none there is no reason to play.
