Funny since I was on a plate wearer but why am I not surprised this is coming from a prot pally. Not saying they can just be ignored. I am saying they should not have that much burst. Other tanks sure don’t

LOL. I don’t know about prot warriors, but my DH and druid both kill the hell out of people in tank spec. Usually the problem is they are under geared and don’t how to PvP, use cds, use flasks and oils, etc. On a side not, an unrated BG is by no means any benchmark for PvP.
Man do i feel your pain. I am a tank as well only a busted DH. I can move around real fast and i can throw a silence and an interrupt onto casters while I move around real fast. I however can’t hurt anyone or anything. I even boosted my darkness flame legendary to rank 4 just so that I have some sort of burst i can throw around that is capable of a 10k crit after about 5 minutes of stacking it.
I ran up to a prot paladin in a random BG. he was clearly way undergeared compared to me. Sitting at about 28k HP, I assume he was around ilvl 190-195. Me on the other hand is packing 60k life at ilvl 214 with 25% vers.
I proceeded to hit the noob with everything I had including a fully charged darkness flame proc that crit. He soaked it all like it was nothing, Stunned me, Popped wings, and proceeded to take me from 60k health to 0 before the stun even ended. And thats after he sat there dancing and spitting emotes at me while i unloaded on him for less than a quarter of his 28k HP.
In what world is this ok? In what world is this even close to fair?

That’s not even possible. No prot pally has less than 30k hp. At 190 ilvl, he’s probably more around 35 to 40k. Either you ran into a holy paladin, or the dude was running some mindmeltingly radical gear strategy.
no. more like he had trash gear yet it didnt even matter because his core abilities are so far out of tune with reality that he can just blow people up. period.
That’s just fundamentally not true, though. And the fact that your example literally cannot be true doesn’t help support your argument.
I did a quick sim, replacing all of my gear with ilvl 158 dungeon blues. And I still had 34k unbuffed hp. Which lines up with where I remember my hp being at when I hit 60. Its just not possible for a 190ish prot paladin to have only 28k hp. It’s barely possible for ANY lvl 60 prot paladin to have hp that low.

Well they’re pointing out that a Prot Paladin with 28k HP does not have ilvl 190 gear. I have just shy of 30k unbuffed at ilvl 193 as a Retribution Paladin. I go up to about 45k if I switch to Prot.
That said it feels like there’s something else here, cause if I throw on my prot gear there is no way I could do 60k damage in 6 seconds even if I crit every attack.
Especially against a target with 25% versatility.

I can concur. It probably has just as much to do with how crap squishy DH is in pvp. even VDH with 60k life and 25% vers can get 1 shot by a fire mage like everyone else. Something is just wrong with DH, But that doesn’t change the fact that prot pala rolling around popping people like they are ret.

Plus you’re below 200 ilvl and only have 12% Vers.

If that happened you’re forgetting A they had to cast wings to do that, B. 1k of their damage was from a consummable, C. the lowest GCD is 1 second, they casted 5 spells, at minimum, assuming they had 30% haste, it was 5 seconds, more likely it was 8.

Macros let you bypass the gcd now? awesome, odd i just macroed all my spells to one button and they all didn’t go off, /scratches head

Well I’m saying that something more than just prot paladin had to be going on here.
Even at 38k HP I’m better geared than that prot paladin and I couldn’t even get close to 60k damage in 6 seconds even under near perfect conditions let alone somebody with as much versatility as you have.
I’m not saying prot isn’t overpowered, but the actual numbers seem off here.

delete tanks from pvp.
They already take additional damage, a tank can be melted inside of 2 globals by any player with real skill.
The only place tanks should be in PvP is either node guarding or FC’ing in Regular or Rated BGs.
