Prot Paladin questions

Trying to get into the spec and would like some clarification on how to use certain abilities.

Divine Toll: Worth casting on single target?

Divine Shield-Final Stand: Does the taunt generation only apply if i use it on myself? or whoever gets the shield will taunt as well?

Blessing of Spell/Prot: Should i prioritize using it on others over myself?

yes

divine shield only casts on yourself

blessing of spell warding should be used as a personal defensive unless your trying to cheese specific mechanics.

Depends. It’s a 1 minute CD so if you are on a boss then yes you should use it, but if you are at the end of a trash pull then not really.

Divine Shield only applies to you.

Blessing of Protection only prevents physical damage and can be applied on others. If you use Blessing of Protection on yourself, you will lose aggro and kill your party unless you pre-taunt and cancel the shield before taunt wears off.

I use Blessing of Spellwarding on myself the most. A lot of the Tank Busters are split Magic and Physical damage and gets you out of a lot of situations. The Flamerenders in Grim Batol and the Anima Slash from Mists are two trash tank busters this can mitigate.

For bosses you can use it for the 1st-2nd boss in DB, Machinist in SV, 1st-2nd-4th boss in CoT, 2nd-3rd-4th boss in GB.

Oh i though i could use it on others, ty for clarifying that.

Does this also remove agroo?

No, you are good with Spellwarding.

You can set up a macro to BoP + Cancel Aura.

First click Taunt+Bops, 2nd Click removes BoP.

Well ty for the help, so BOP is exclusive use for Allies for the most part.

Mostly with allies, but there are situations where you might want to clear a Bleed or Physical Debuff stack like the big pulls in SV towards Mechinist boss or the spiders after 2nd boss in CoT.

You also have to keep in mind that BoP and BoSW share CDs.

So you are more likely to use the CD on yourself, but you can use it on Fixated targets and they won’t lose agro on it. Like in NW before Stitchflesh or first boss in SoB.

Yeah those are rough, i usually just save a strong CD for those, and kite in the case of the Earthen once the debuff becomes too much.

Having play Prot War and Brew before.

Definitely the fixate of the Assistants but dont really see a point for SoB, since the whole point is to kite him to the bombs so you shouldnt be taking dmg from him anyway, would come handy if you get yourself cornered though.

Yeah I change what I do depending on the group, but for the pat+2 packs I start with Ardent Defender then into Gaurdian of Ancient Kings. Right before it expires I’ll either BoP quickly to remove the stack to stay in the fight or if the encounter is almost over will like a little bit to save the CDs. If it’s on CD then I’ll use Divine Shield.

If you talent into the poison/disease preventing Blessing of Sacrifice you can negate the damage completely on the first boss of NW - Spew. Every other time.

If you are not gonna meed it in the next minute then yes for sure , because of resonance is just a free avengers shield.
