While the thread is bait to address this, preseason patch druid tanks where just that. It was common to see a bear spinning a flag solo against 5+ people not dying and actually landing kills.
They got nerfed to the ground and blizz decided to make sure tanks are not a thing by making them take 60% increased damage in pvp.
It was +50% at the beginning of BfA then they upped it to +60% at a later point in BfA. It is still at +60% today.
The +10% increase in damage they did recently only affects PvE. All they did was remove the +10% DR they gave all tanks’ passives in Shadowlands which was PvE only. This was added in March of 2021 in an effort to keep tanks from having to kite around so much in Mythics.
Correct it was raised to 60% even I missed it cause I wasn’t playing at the time they raised it again. It’s actually beyond dumb. Also it’s not working correctly as per Rextroy’s video today it’s 67%. Either was a stealth nerf or a bug.
I’d say it’s a 50/50 chance between a bug and a stealth nerf. I hope it’s just a bug caused by the recent DR change. If only Rextroy could have figured out a way for tanks to one shot people through some weird interaction of taking more damage, some old trinket, and using those frogs.
We want to make it clear though, excluding tanks from Arena or Solo Shuffle is not an option we are exploring. We create content that is available to everyone no matter their specialization and there are some players who enjoy playing one class or specialization. We do not want to isolate those players and believe there are more design options for us to explore.
So this was just a lie.
They may as well just disable them if they are going to throw in stealth nerfs without accounting for other brackets and forms of PvP. Ironically, Blood is the only tank that doesn’t suffer too much from this because healing is based on damage taken.
