Prot: Heroic Throw = When?

I’m generally using it as an opener, to grab additional mobs as needed, or to finish a mob off as they slowly saunter away. Any other situations you’ve come across that Heroic Throw became the perfect ability?

LOS pulls for caster groups springs to mind. Just warn your pug first :wink:

It is also pretty much all you can use when the boss has some sort of ability you shouldn’t be standing in.

Just stand back and chuck axes at him while he spins around/catches fire/drops green or purple puddles.

I generally use it when my tank isn’t pulling large or fast enough for my tastes.

So then do you tank because you know how fast and how much you want to pull? I’m assuming you just pull for the tank when you want to take a break from tanking and you know what it safe to pull and at what speed so you help the tank out while you’re off spec dpsing

I mean I main a tank and it’s just as annoying, when a class that can tank but doesn’t, get outta here with your waste of a life.

But like I said, I’m sure that belf warrior I replied to just does it to help nudge the tank along hopefully the tank gets the idea to pull a little more or pull a little faster. I do that when I’m off specing as dps, shoot I even do it on my priest too

No no no no, people who play classes that can tank or heal and they don’t at least off spec on of those roles then complain about tanks or heals? Those mother lickers can kick rocks

Nah, I don’t tank. Try it from time to time, never goes well. It was mostly a joke. I do have a pretty good idea of what a safe pull is after timing a few hundred keys every season though.

As a tank, when you pull random stuff, 9 times out of 10 you’re messing up my route.

I said it was mostly a joke dude. If I’m pulling stuff its either:

  1. I’m helping someone with a low key, tank is a nervous nancy, and I’ll be god damned if we’re pulling that crap one pack at a time.
  2. Its easier for me to grab than the tank (think pulling both constructs in 2nd boss room of KR)

I’m not a moron. I’m not grabbing random mobs in a 20 because of ADHD.

I use heroic throw for all my inital pulls. I save taunts for when dps goes ham and rips aggro occasionally. After that my plater addkn tells me what adds are attacking/targeting who and I can just intercept for good measure.

If you’re the type of tank that becomes upset when I pull with throw, I’m going to pull with throw.

I think it needs a massive buff. 7k with a 14s 14k dot baseline and no cooldowns for prot

I would prefer having a ranged weapon back again with engy bullets that do different things, e.g. an explosive, a slow, a silence, a root. Go full Rambo.

Might give engineers another little earner on the side.

I have a macro.

/cast Charge

So you use heroic throw instantly with charge and you can spam it when your enemy is far and your charge is on cd

Yes you cast heroic throw whenever you need to throw. Since guns are no longer an option, we must throw.

Also, killing things as they are running with very little HP, like mages, is very funny and makes me laugh.
