Prot: Crit/Haste or Haste/Mastery?

I see people going for either or set of secondaries. Im assuming Crit/Haste is more dps oriented and Haste/Mastery is defensive. For M+, is one better than the other?

Crit provides parry which helps brings paladins closer to to 100% the avoidance table.

But also haste helps with CD’s which helps decrease spike damage via building generators for sotr. (With 20% being generally the target for most prot tanks).

you sim.

if yo ureally want to focus on a stat, go all in mastery for 100% magic block memes

You need to have 27% mastery for 100% block, then you focus haste till ±30% and everything else for crit.

now, just so i’m tracking correctly, this 100% block chance is only for magic dam, yeah? because of the 8% we get from improved holy shield. the physical damage will still be at ~92% block chance, correct? Obviously still high.

Does this 100% includes faith in light ?

You mean wog 30% block? Ya

In high keys prot needs to use wog frequently for faith in light to bring us to 100% block, or we just die to one shots.

Yeah, I played pally a bit in s1, keeping faith up is so annoying because it’s tied to the precious self-heal resource. It felt like I was forced to overlap 2 def cds at the same time.

What others said but honestly with mid expansion I wouldn’t worry too much about it now.
