I’m looking at getting back into Paladin tanking and just had a question about corruption.
From what I’ve been reading, everything says stacking Versatile or Expedient for defense. However it also seems that Mastery is more of a preferred stat over Vers. So my question is why stack Versatile and not Masterful?

Well stack TDs because in 99% of content that’s the best option. You said your just getting back into tanking so does that mean your doing +24 keys or higher? Because those are the people for whom TD is not the play.
If you are intending to do keys that high then well mastery is less consistent, you’d be seeing like 50% wings uptime with VoP+RP and you need to be inside your cons, while with a vers set surging is about 65% uptime and when you don’t have surging it’s still taking off 2 key levels of damage. And your can run your LD+lucid or touch or whatever you want rather than being locked into VoP+RP. Vers also increases other external sources of value such as trinkets, azerite traits or indeed your corruption if you’re still wearing a few TDs

Also, thank you for the information. It was more information than I expected and very helpful. I didn’t even take essences into account when thinking of corruption stacking. Being a fire mage main it’s super cookie cutter and doesn’t really require much out of the box thinking.

So Ive run a Td build and while fantastic I feel sluggish. Currently running expedient 11 and racing pulse 3. 56% haste well fed and I fed better about my utility and sotr uptime. Damage isn’t there like with TD , but more buttons to push is fun.
