Title says, im thinking to reroll, id love to know what people (who actually know what they are talking about) to give me some info about pve, pvp, leveling and end game pros cons about those classes.
Thanx in advance.
If you think hard about which class you want to play and are considering rerolling at level 22 you should probably give up on getting to 60 anytime soon, or at all
Lol, what? No.
Just look up class guides / gameplay footage for both. Watch that ish. That’ll probably give you a better/ more accurate idea than most people here will.
Mage
pros: Free food, water, can teleport to any major city.
cons: Everybody and their brother thinks your vending machine slash airline service.
I really enjoy the game , and gonna be 60 i think but not rushing anything, just dont wanna reroll at 60 instead wanna do it now:)
Lol what??
Lock cons same, people from other side of the world /w and ask for summ lol
That happebed to me so much in vanilla and I simply told them no. To summon them I would have to find two nearby randos to help me summon them.
player: Can I get a port to stormwind.
Me: Will that be coach or 1st class seating? Would you like me to finish what am I doing or drop my what I am doing to prepare your flight.
Making good money i guess
All these hijacks…good grief
Anyway, OP:
There are mage and warlock specific websites that delve deep into each respective class, which are based on retail, but still hold major relevance to your questions.
My advice is to ignore generalizations because spec and actual skill provide different results.
The mage is great for DPS and has portal utility. It takes skill to survive a melee assault, but mages do have spells to help distance themselves.
The lock is so nuanced, and varied, that I cant do the class justice here. If you seek a challenge, reroll to lock. Excellent in all phases of the game, and great ability to shore up group composition.
YT videos are your friend.
Last, hit YT. Many excellent examples uploaded and some episodes dedicated to your question.
You should be a Mage.
A Gnome Mage. They’re the best.
Warlocks will dunk on Mage in PvP all day, every day.
Besides, Mages are the Rogues of this generation vanilla. You gonna join an UBRS run with like 6 of them already in group.
Warlocks are better at PvP. “I’m a mage, I have polymorph that breaks on damage.”
“I’m a warlock, and my succubus has a TWELVE SECOND CHARM that I can use to DoT you up before fearing you.”
Mages have better AoE in PvE content. Both have respectable single-target damage when kitted for it. Warlocks have a personal tank so killing individual mobs is pretty easy without having to kite.
Mages make their own food/water, but Warlocks have Life Tap and more health regenerating abilities they can use in combat. Mages have quick ways to get people to other places, warlocks have quick ways to get other people to them, and also get cheaper access to mounts.
Do you want a free lvl 40 mount or do you want to fast travel to capitals?
Do you want to Summon people to the instance/raid at the start (requires you and two others to get there first), or do you want to send everyone home at the end?
Do you want to provide health stones or do you want to supply food/drink?
Do you want to spam Shadowbolts or do you want to spam Fireballs?
Pretty much all it boils down to.
Edit:
One thing to note about Locks - more so than other classes I think - they play at 60 nothing like they play levelling up. Actually you could say the same about Pallies - go from melee machine to spamming Healing Light.
Levelling it is dot and run. End game it’s all about the Shadowbolt spam.
Edit: Forgot PVP.
In PVP Mages kill Warriors and Rogues and Warriors and Rogues kill Warlocks.
But Warlocks get their revenge by reliably killing Mages. Warlocks also melt Priest and Hunter face.
Dont forget… Warlock + mage combo in pvp equals run away. OH wait they wont be running nvm
Thanks everyone for answers, im going mage i guess, just reading if fire is viable besides mc ofc, cuz i dont like frost
Frost is really only used in MC. Outside of that, Fire is far and away better. If your guild is doing MC regularly you’ll have to respec to it (and equip any +frost damage gear you still have), or just stick with Frost for a while, but Fire is basically the go-to from then on.
Frost and Fire play fairly similarly though. It’s not particularly engaging. In PvP it’s quite different, there’s a number of viable specs and you can go from deep Frost for control/CC/utility to Elemental for pure damage.
Frost is used in AQ40 against Vidicus but I dont think you have to spec into for him just use frostbolt.
I meant in all aspect of the game tbh not only raiding, cuz people on chat always asking for mages with 3/3 improved blizz lol. Im not gonna have that:)
