Just curious what some of you guys’ pros/cons are. I run a 7/8M 8/Hour a week guild that use to be US-100 and for every pro I am finding about 6-7 cons.
My personal pros are:
-
The Raid encounters(except Zul pre-nerf when guilds use 4-6 sub rogues to defeat it).
-
Gold from selling carries. Spamming island normals for 2k a piece with a friend is very lucrative at times. Random drops, azerite, etc.
-
Easy/cheap materials for raid materials such as cauldrons, feasts, etc.
Now I will only share a few cons, but I have several:
-
Azerite. Farming azerite and AP in BFA/Legion has been punishing. I only really enjoy the PVE aspect of WoW and in order to do it at semi high end, I have to maintain a neck level and make sure my team does the same. You are actively punishing people for working, having family/friends, and playing other games.
-
Mythic+ Dungeons. I love the concept, i loved it years ago in Legion. But these dungeons are boring and poorly designed. With raider io existing, I have to run several people through keys each week(guildies, friends, and people from my twitch stream). There is a clear cut meta, us non metas can do them but the monkeys playing the game won’t give certain classes/specs a shot. I think i’m casually nearing 1400 score but it is a struggle to stay interested when it is not rewarding and such a small amount of players even care about mythic+ now.
-
World Quests. There are too many. Get rid of Azerite so we(raiders) can stop doing these.
-
Blizzard/Activision being out of touch with the audience. I understand that Blizzard is bleeding, but every week more guilds crumble(helping my guild rank go up) because you guys burn out the top players. When the top players burn out, so do their friends, their stream audience, and it causes a domino effect. Make the grind reward optional rewards such as mounts, gold, pets, toys, or transmogs. Dreading to log into WoW and having to do a laundry list of stuff eventually burns anyone out.
-
Make casuals feel like part of the community. I am not as hardcore as I was but I am definitely not casual. I however, do have a stream full of casual type players who struggle to find any fun or a place in the wow community. As silly as it sounds, jewel crafting made a guy who played for 12 years quit. He enjoys working the AH and JC gets no love, so he moved to Final Fantasy 14(gross I know). Several others complain about stuff and just let their subs run out.
I know my cons went on a bit, but I think this game needs a lot of overhauling. The big one is getting rid of a mandatory grind. Leave that grind to the vanilla servers.
