Proof on how the 6 month subs actually pay themselves

So then moot point if you’re not playing.

It actually feels like she just picked up a fresh murloc from the supermarket to make some murloc pie

ive been playing for free for about 2yrs using game time tokens using in game gold - you aint gonna get better value than that

Its debatable whether buying the 6 months for those added cosmetics is worth it. Frankly, I don’t need them. And often I take months off so it’s a commitment for me.

American taxes are weird.

You need to remember the 6 month sub is one bonus per 6 months, so in this cycle you got 2 items, meaning in the next 6 months you get nothing, take your calculations from that, one 6 month sub and one bonus per.

Here in Australia I paid $103.50 for 6 months and got a $34 mount and cannot even see the imp in a ball on the store, so working out rough calculations it should cost me $20. So I get $54 of free stuff.

At $20 a pop for a monthly sub it would have cost me only $16.50 more, but no free stuff. Assuming I would buy the free stuff it’s worth 6 months, but if someone never buys from the store than a 1 month sub is actually not bad value.

We get it, you’re a blizzard fanboy. Wipe that brown stuff off your nose tho, it looks bad.

Oh goody, another advertisement from Clark, let me stifle my surprise…

…Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight after i finish my holiday blend coffee from Dunkin Donuts! Combiuning with the sweet molasses and dried fruit flavors of Colombian and Ethiopian coffees to give you that holly jolly feeling of getting back to work, because America runs on Dunkin! And it has more content then 6.1. /j

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Since they removed the option to pay for 1 month at a time, I no longer will consider paying for long term subscriptions. The decision was at least in part due to the lies of fanboys like clark, who kept repeating that nothing whatever had changed, even though they changed the 1 month gametime to 2 minimum after looking at the data they found people who bought 1 month didn’t re-up. Don’t suppose it had anything to do with the quality of the game and that no effort was made to retain them, eh?

Does clark get a payment every time he convinces someone to buy a 6 month subscription just before the content is released and they realize they were misled?

If I decide I want to let an account run out, now I’m not stuck with extra months I didn’t want to play but have already paid for.

I don’t want your free stuff I will never use. That counts for zero value.

The whole scenario you lay out OP, is predicated on the fact that the payer…er player wants pets and mounts and transmogs.

While some do (which is obvious since it’s the only thing keeping Blizzard afloat most quarters lately), many of us don’t, thus no value added. Just 87 bucks out of our pocket.

Well, predicated on the fact that the player are absolutely sure if they want to play for 6 months in addition as well.

Pretty much the reason why i don’t do the 6 month sub things. I rather not feel forced to keep up just to get my money’s worth out of it. Even with “free” stuff.

They are also cruising very close if not over the line of violating anti-trust bundling laws with some of their cross promotions.

Y’know. It would help your argument if the cosmetics they bundle didn’t randomly go missing from your account from time to time. That being said, if the dollar math works out to be a cheaper and you’re sure you’re gonna play for that period of time, then more power to you.

As for me, the murloc backpacks are okay but not enough for the sub. So I’ll wait for the next 6 month promo in the meantime.

I got the Murdock. Wasn’t expecting it. Really loose on the sub time limit….mine Is about to run out so on the tail end of the 6 months.

I put a green Murloc on the sin rogue. Kind of like a mandolorian inspired change lol, probably more fitting on outlaw but I got sin gearing up in play, I use sin.

See it entertaining a few days waiting for pvp pops.

I agree. Expecting players to take TWO portals for ONE mount is a LITERAL SLAP IN THE FACE.

A buddy of mine whispered me today and asked me how I liked the free gift. After some clarification, it turned out he was on a 6 month sub because [microtransactions] reasons. I explained to him that he had gotten this because of his ongoing 6 month sub, but I did not because I am monthly (and I’m fine with that). And that they always have these 6 month promotions BEFORE the new content is released.

And…he realized that after buying a 6 month sub to get some free bling, he always regretted because the bling didn’t make up for the fact that somehow he wanted to quit after finding out what the content was.

For him it was a rude awakening.

The six month sub is a great deal, if you know you will be playing at least 5 months of that date range. You save like $2 a month over the monthly sub and you get all the goodies that come with it. The only reason I do a 3 month sub instead is I have this aversion to long term commitments to paid services, even thou the only time I actually unsubscribed was during WoD.

Oh I see their angle. riding out mine and not feeling another 6 month block.

I have needed to dig deep to like this games content of late. Found it. I have had a fun 4 days of leveling a hunter on a new server. Its older wow that floats my boat these days. That…doesn’t help sell new wow lol.

thing is I can’t keep making 1(10) to 50 alt runs to like this game lol.

I have pvp and sometimes that is enough. SOmetimes though…

This is inline with my reasoning as well. After experiencing Dragon Soul’s content drought, I refuse to lock myself in with WoW, especially when I see how long SoO ran for and 6.2. I’d much rather sign up for a month of “I actually want to play” vs 6m/1y of intermittent playing.

There’s just nothing I can see Blizz offering me that’s going to change my mind about that if they don’t address the problems in their content drought cycles.
