[Prompt] Murder Most Foul

It was an unremarkable day. Your character was simply going about their usual buisness when they strode into that fateful building. Perhaps it was an inn, or a tavern, a potion shop or the homestead of a farmer. The setting is immaterial as the circumstances are the same.

They enter only in time to see the death throes of the resident. An ever so slight movement in the shadows is your only hint at a perpetrator but before you can react two other figures walk in behind you.

They’re guards. Their eyes drift from the fresh corpse over to your character and their hands grip their weapons. This is a set up.

What do you do?

i go with the gaurds. I am a champion of the horde.
if they still want to get physical i summon a void walker to keep them in there place.

Laugh that they even think it was me. Why stab a guy when I could send a cobra or basilisk to do the job for me?

Perfectia looked at the two guards that seem to be ready to draw weapons. “Are you two here to help with the investigation or guard the crime scene?” She asked.

The orc guards look at the elf slightly confused, “You didn’t do this?”

Perfectia draws the heavy blade from her back and holds it in front of her.

The orcs quickly take a step back away and draw there weapons.

“I just wanted to show you that it was clean, and still sharp.” She pointed at the wreckage in the back. It was littered with broken furniture and spotty blood stains that covered the wall. The bottom of the victim was missing and a pool of blood and blacken intestines was glistening from the light on the floor. “If I did this recently you would have heard some kind of commotion. Also, you can check the body yourself, he was ripped to pieces by something strong.”

They looked behind, “We were told that there was a commotion a half a hour ago and there was a female elf leaving this house.”

I gestured my hand toward the corpse and wreckage, “Does it look like a female elf could have done this?”

“Maybe it was a druid.” The second orc suggested.

“That doesn’t explain why she’s here.” The first orc argued.

“This man died recently. You see how the eyes are still moist?” She pointed at the corpse.

They looked behind her and stepped forward. They looked at it closely and nodded, “Yeah, I see that.”

The second guard put out his hand forward to examine, but Perfectia slapped his hand, “Don’t touch it.” She said.

“You see how his lips are parted and bloated. He bit through his tongue. It means he was in immense pain before death.” Perfectia made a circular gesture with her hand and she pointed at the corpse.

They both tilted there head sideways and took notice, “Yes but where’s the lower half.” The first guard asked.

“Maybe it was eaten.” The second guard suggested.

“No beast could eat a fully grown orcs legs in a half a hour.” The first guard stated.

“Maybe they took the legs with them.” The second argued.

The first shook his head, “No, we would have seen drag marks from outside.”

The second shrugged and argued, “Maybe it picked them up and took them someplace.”

The first looked at him angrily, “That means it wasn’t a beast.” He said annoyed.

“What about if the beast was-” The second guards sentence was cut short as Perfectia sword came down and went through his helmet.

The first guard looked over at her, startled in a panic, and Perfectia put the tip of the blade through his mouth and it came out the other side of the skull. She breathed out a sigh of relief, “By definition, stupid is when you think you’re smart and your not.” She said to herself, “But it looks like a druid was trying to set me up.”
