Program is not responding

After the recent update for Warcraft, when I launch the game it stays at a black screen forever until I click the screen then error message pops up that says program is not responding. I’ve reinstalled everything and still problem persists

You probably have a laptop, and you likely have Intel 2000-3000 HD, and switchable Graphics, that loads the game using an AMD or nVidea card. For whatever reason, and Blizzard isnt really replying on this, this causes problems now, It takes like 10-15 min before the system FINALLY loads the game with the AMD Hardware… and once it does, it wont go into the Display menu without crashing.

I started the game up using my Intel Chip, and its terrible, but it starts right up… however when I go to Display, and check Advanced and try to choose my AMD card, its not listed. I dont know why… and Blizzard isn’t talking about why.

So far they just say “Oops looks like you need to spend $1500 on a new laptop, Sorry guys” …

Clearly the game worked fine before, and it works if I let the damn thing sit forever… so the hardware WORKS… The question is why does the Launcher fail to identify the Performance Video card, since 8.1 hit. I’m using OEM drivers, for my Inspiron and I know for sure using anything else is going to kill my laptop. And it WAS working fine, and will eventually load, so the Hardware IS NOT THE ISSUE. Other games work, Wow even worked before the patch without any issues. So what is the problem here. What did 8.1 do… that causes this for so many people.

We need a response from Blizzard

Exactly. I find it hard to believe that suddenly hundreds (if not more) of people need new laptops. They can never even consider it’s a problem on their end first, they immediately go to “well you need to upgrade your computer”. Both of my video cards are above the minimum standards and were working just fine before the patch.

So, have you pointed your graphics switching software to the new wow.exe location?
