I enjoy the looking for recipes and mastering a couple of professions but if i want another profession, i have to unlearn one but don;t see a way to relearn it later… my point is, how come we can’t have 4 or 8 professions… rolling and leveling a new character just o fill the professions seems like work and not play.
I do wish we could have at least one more profession on a single toon.
I don’t play alts, and it would make my character feel much more whole professionally to have one gathering prof, and two crafting profs.
I agree we need more especially with their interconnected items now. Everything needs items from other crafting to get it done. It’s annoying. Alts for more crafting feels forced and pointless.
The original reason for the limit of 2 was to force people interact with each other and create an economy, because believe it or not WoW used to be a true mmo. If they gave everyone 8 profession slots what little profession based player interaction still exists would be completely destroyed. Case in point being FFXIV. The only thing sold on that game is furniture and a few very specific mats that are used to make slutmogs for catgirls, because those mats require a group to farm and have a very low drop rate. In War Within everyone will have a warband, and you’ll be able to just have your own little crafting bubble with all your characters that share a mat storage.
I’m not saying they should go one direction or the other, I’m just saying why the limit of 2 originally existed. I think it would make more people happy than not if they just let everyone have all the professions on a single character.
