Professions

I’ve spent the majority of my time outside of the main quest line and leveling on professions since launch of DF, and tbh it’s been pretty unrewarding. Most I’ve made is 250 k in one day, and that was with 8 hours of playing. I also want to add that this gold making method is incredibly boring and tedious with allot of time spent on the AH sniping. Also the profit margin is marginally higher than just selling the mats again at market value, considering the huge time sync required to work those mats, I think I’m probably better off just reselling the mats and making the AH my main profession and calling it a day, although that sounds miserable lol.

I made that 250k with tailoring/enchanting. I’ve tried 4 different professions and have leveled them all close to 100 and am pretty unimpressed with there ability to make gold or anything else for that matter.

I also can’t stand how there is 0 ability to re spec my knowledge points, 0 options.

There are games with crafting systems that are going on 20 years without any major revisions that are better than this by a long shot. Far more rewarding and very clear goals and incentives. Not like this system at all. Honestly I feel like with the DF profession system i’m better off just grabbing an extra hour at work and just buying my gold with tokens. I’ve leveled a profession strategically with clear goals only to see that the market values on mats changed so wildly that the specialization that i specd into is worthless and a huge money sync. /rolls eyes. Bless your heart Blizzard.

I am trying to focus on 4 different professions spread across two characters for the longevity of DF. I want to make gold, craft some cool useful gear or other items that have value and be able to farm mountains of gold. I fear that I am going to be pigeonholed into 1-2 professions that are boring and are only taken for there gold making properties and its just a boring farm like with tailoring/enchanting.

it’s whatever honestly I play this game for the other mini game pvp, was just really hoping to enjoy professions because it’s something I miss in my mmo’s.

With all of that said, how have you all enjoyed the new profession system? If you have any suggestions, I am all ears. Thanks guys and have a good one.

Edit: The gold making method I used with my professions is now barely profitable lmao. Professions are a total joke.

They are attempting to change professions so you cannot level them instantly. People are still trying to level them instantly. So my suggestion is relax and if you need gold then sell mats because that’s where it’s at. Right now the AH is flooded with low level stuff from people trying to level their professions faster than the game allows.

31k gold per hour and that’s…bad?

I also don’t understand the complaint. Getting a million and a half gold per week, and there’s a finite number of items in game to purchase for a million or more gold. With the current price of a token, a person could get free gameplay for a month, with a day’s grind, pulling in that amount of gold. Or add to Blizz balance and earn a 6 month sub in a week. Or work towards buying all the goodies in the shop in the forseeable future. Kind of silly to say it’s not “enough.”

If someone really wants to earn more, going to have to learn how to optimize the goldmaking for a new xpac and strategize and work for it, that’s standard. Not just keep doing the same-old and expect to faceroll in humongous amounts of gold.

Making millions per day, seems fine.

How restrictive professions are is a benefit. Had a monopoly on two item for like 3 days. If people could respec, gold making potential plummets.

250k in one day and you’re complaining?
