If I plan to do a lot of PvP should I just start leveling mining and engineering now.
Two gathering profs feels sort of pointless cause you can only vendor the stuff.
One gathering prof and a prof that goes with it seems like it makes sense. Herb and Alch or something.
But would it be smart to just go mining and engineering now instead of what most people say drop a prof later for engineering cause wouldn’t it take hella long that way doing it later.
You can still post to the AH but if you don’t want to run back to a major city all the time create a bank alt, mail them the mats and store them in a bank then AH later.
I skipped the usual tailoring/enchanting this time and went with herb/alchemy instead. I’m also maining a Mage instead of the usual Priest.
Already seen like 200 tailors spamming so I figured having pots (and transmutes later) would be more beneficial for me long term.
Got both up to 50+ already so it’s a good start.
I’m personally doing engi/mine while I level but it’s sort of a class fantasy thing for me as well. Dwarven hunter with mining engineering just made sense.
I also plan on doing a lot of PVP later, but Engi is useful for PVE as well and I just like engineering and I can make my hunter guns and ammo while leveling and save some money.
If you want money, do mining and skinning. Skin and sell all the crap you get early to mid level to a vendor it’s just extra money. Bank all your ores/stones/gems so you’ve got em ready to crank engineering when you hit a higher level and drop skinning.
Honestly, engineering is too expensive to level early. Some of the required mats are expensive things from vendors.

Trying mining and blacksmithing this time around. My last time in vanilla i leveled my profession as I could as I was leveling assuming it would help in making gold or help my character at a given level. The not so easy money of classic will of course make you live on a budget. I remember engineers being our heros of the Molten Core as they would bring their repair bots.
My plan is to get to epic riding skill first, then go back and level mining/engineering.
I feel like I’ll be able to back and level them faster with faster riding.
