What if professions had you play a minigame like some cooking mama mechanic when you created stuff?
Maybe I’m out of the loop I am an old fart, can you explain to me like I’m 5 what the heck? Cooking mama mechanic is.
Just thinking something where we actually do something? I’m not gonna be good at explaining this but I can think for example if I were creating a sword, then i’d have to click with my mouse on some visual on the screen so it’d look like I’m hammering at the sword or something?

edit: I’ve noticed more mini-game-like world quests, and certain tasks in the time rifts, or just doing random crap with the digs and the tuskarr cooking, maybe professions would also be more fun if they had something along these lines?
I remember in legion that you had to click on a gem to knock the spiky bits off. That was for jewelcrafting. Maybe that was for one quest, but I thought that was a nice mechanic.
If that is kinda what you are talking about, I am in favour of it.
Saying it’s a series that started on the Nintendo DS/Wii should be enough, but here’s a sample.
To the thread: No, I’d rather not get held up on filling someone’s order because the game wants me to draw an Amogus on the leather to guarantee a 5-star craft.
These things can be neat little gimmicks, but if theres a mini-game involved then that typically implies the outcome will be affected by your success at the minigame.
People aren’t going to want their high level mats that are either time gated or earned in difficult content to be wasted because of a minigame goof.
They also lose their charm quickly and just become annoying after a while.
That’s true. I feel like maybe if you do it the first time it’d be great, then the subsequent crafts after would be just clicking the Create button.
Might not be bad as something like weekly quests for knowledge that have a mini game instead of just like “make two axes”, maybe a few of them with increasing difficulty.
cooking mama is so fun lol
Maybe for crafting quests or weeklies but I can’t see most crafters wanting to play a minigame every time they are trying to make things. Remember most crafters are doing this as a for profit kind of deal. That’s not really the kind of engagement they want.

Maybe for crafting quests or weeklies
Yeah, I’d be down for that. But not for just straight up crafting.
I’m already lagging behind on cooking in Palia, because it’s mini games of flipping stuff in pans, chopping, rolling dough, etc.

What if professions had you play a minigame
Then they’d be super duper extra annoying.
