I just returned and finished up the catching up part and noticed my professions were reset. Do I need to start from scratch again or does it go back to normal after a while or what?
Welcome back! You’ve been gone a while.
Your professions have not been reset.
Professions are now broken down by expansion.
Instead of your profession being: Blacksmithing (1-1200)
We now have
Classic Blacksmithing
Outland Blacksmithing
Northrend Blacksmithing
and so so
So you can have full Dragon Isles Blacksmithing without ever learning any Classic Blacksmithing.
So if you returned and did Dragonflight, ou would never notice that you had maxed out Classic Blacksmuthing unless you looked.

Thanks for the help, so I’m looking at my mining prof and it’s 0 but only shows classic, do I have to go to each area to learn again or can I just skip? I also have engineering and I see I have all the way up to Legion which is at 1/100.
