Professions in Cata?

So in wotlk, Jewelcrafting gives dragoneye gems, which give really good stats compared to normal gems

Wondering what jewelcrafting does in cata, the same type thing? or other professions that are good for pvp/pve?

also, how is mining/jc for goldmaking in cata?

So Scottie goes over every profession in Cataclysm.

TLDR on that, iirc, all professions are pretty much 1:1 in terms of power gains. Except for Engineering. It gives you more secondary stats or something. Still BIS utility though.

Thanks for the link, got a solid info about it, except for jewelcrafting, he didn’t cover jewelcrafting :open_mouth:

also in that video, he didn’t cover gold making with professions

At 8:40 time stamp he shows a big JC gem.
It’s the same formula as in Wrath. x3 of those HUGE gems.

Regular gems are 40 of primary stat.
Super JC gems are 67.
27*3=81 extra primary stat.

And all other professions end up granting 80 of extra stat.
Alch 80 extra through flasks (as they do now)
chanting thru rings. BS thru extra sockets.

Gold making wise, it’s pretty much the same as it is today.
Everyone going to need a lot of gems.
Everyone going to need a lot of enchants.
Inscription, however, is a little different. As in Cataclysm you perma-learn it. So don’t count on glyphs as a money making machine.

BS/LW/Tailoring still just crafting BoEs.
