Professions are *way* too complicated

Not much else needs to be said.

Blizzard loves making overly complicated systems, even when it makes the overall experience a convoluted mess.

I don’t think it’s that complicated once you actually use it.

I would like a clear indication of what each of the stats (finesse, intuition, etc) actually does.

I see how they’re trying to make professions kind of skillful in order to make money, but it does end up being a little unnecessarily convoluted.

I’m starting to realize alchemy just isn’t even worth it to do. I’m just going to start selling the materials because I can make way more. I’m guessing most people don’t recognize this because the system is so convoluted they don’t realize how much money they’re spending trying to create something that appears to be profitable.

I still think they should offer a one time only opportunity to reset profession talents. I messed up my first round, and now that I understand everything better, I’d like an opportunity to set myself up a bit better.

they need to offer a one-time reset for those who went in totally blind and messed up.

It’s just rewarding to people who invest in their profs. It was silly when you could pay like 5k for a kit and have everything maxed out aside from a few oddball patterns.

there are some weird bits about it but overall it seems fine to me.

took a while to realize how work orders worked and that you had to go to the “crafting table” and not the actual work order place if you want to do public ones.

now my problem is that all the public ones are done so fast that theres never any for me to do lol

its pretty bad if youre trying to fulfill public orders but getting something made for you works wonders. took less than 2 minutes to get my ring made even with a mere 42 gold commission offered lol - it also came up with much better quality/ilvl than what i was expecting.

When you open your crafting or gathering click on any recipe, and it says what they do when your cursor is over the name in the Details box.

Oooo you right, that’s handy. Thanks!

Well, I have no complaints now.

People refuse to put any effort to learn anything in this game. Its not that complicated

I still prefer it over the older crafting but it still could use some work.
I hope they keep it going forward though.

A lot more needs to be said.
What are you finding complex?

You aren’t meant to be profitable until you have significantly trained your crafting spec. The training process is designed as a sink. And there is some analogue here for reality. Trainees in a field are typically not making money for at least some months or years.

Professions are wonderful! I really love what they did with them. It’s actually fun.

They are so complicated I’m not enjoying them… But I’m still going to grudginlgly do them.

I love the profession gear. I hate the metas on top of metas

If you look up your crafting books, it will show you what it does for each recipe and what % you are at.

Yeah someone pointed me at it, must have never moused over any of that lol

Pretty much why I only fool around with gathering profs. Crafting imo is one of the most unfun boring things to do in this game.

I mostly like the new professions but they’re really hard to figure out and the tutorials don’t answer enough questions about how to move forward or why you get stuck. I’m constantly getting stuck unable to figure out how to get a certain spell past the 50% mark between Silver and Gold, for examaple, while other things are already maxed. I’ve wasted a lot of mats trying to figure it out.

It’s not clear how you get knowledge, the main way I’ve found out is just by accident, killing or looting something and getting a thingamajig with +1 knowledge. I even caught one fishing. Maybe they’re just random world drops.

I still don’t know exactly how to boost rep with the artisans. Every so often I stumble across a quest but that’s it.

Right now it looks like I need to get to 15 renown someplace and buy a recipe before I can do much more.
