Why is it okay for people to overprice the materials to enchant the gear, and undervalue the price of the actual enchantment?
I’ve spend time to level up a profession that it’s supposed to give me profit for working in enchanting other players, and in fact it is being drop in the market.
Random example: [Eternal Grace]
Price of the mats all together in the AH-> 710g
Price of the enchantment in the AH-> 114g
???
I guess nobody wants that enchantment.
You need to be smart with what you make. If there is that big a difference in material cost vs price, there is a very very small market for that enchantment. However, there is a big market for other enchantments because something is keeping the material price up.
I make legendaries. Most make a profit at rank 2, 3 and 4. Some however have such a small market that there is no money at ranks 2 or 3. So I just don’t make them. I’ll make something that does make me money.
Did the same when I was doing missives and potions - made the ones people wanted and were profitable. Ignored the others. This isn’t hard.
No, it’s the people farming their own mats and not taking into account their time investment when putting them on the AH, I have a prob with a few people on my server that may be doing this… or I hope that the case. they go from an item that will sell at 19k… drop it down to 10k… and post a few on the AH? why? no clue I hope they are farming their mats because they might as well just sell the mats to make more money… if they are going to post them at that price and only post 1-2 at a time it’s not worth their time to even try and farm higher ranks… the big problem is that they post it for days and they just tanking the price of the item. they want that fast gold undercutting a lot thinking it will sell faster… not how that works…it not like an OHH CAnDy At LoW PrICe MuSt BUy It… no, if they don’t need it they will not buy a lego that will be no use… at any price… if they have to buy it at 19k… they will buy it at 19k.
Why do people undercut? Simple, to sell the item. An item could be worth 20k, but then take a month to sell. Or you could list it at 10k and have it sell in 24 hours. 10k in the hand is worth more than 20k in the bush, or something…That’s why.

That’s where you buy all those enchants when they’re cheap like that and repost them at a higher price, effectively “resetting” that item.
That’s hard to do when you don’t have the capital, but that’s how it works.
ah, no. unless it a BoE that drop and it’s like easy gold with little time investment maybe, but more than likely its just some guy that going to buy it out and resell it at 20k, because they know they can sell it. Your happy about selling for 10k after 5 min in the ah, he happy selling it for 20k after waiting a day at best. its call flipping.
I know what flipping is, and basically everything about the WoW economy and AH. I’ve made like 10m+ gold over the years! That said, I’m happy to sell things for what the market dictates. But someone asked why undercut? And I said why. To sell. Quick.
Well, if more people need to level their skill then they need to sell their enchants. Yes.
Legion/bfa had some major improvements over this, at the cost of some dumb grinds, so I cant decide which is worse.
Dont listen to this players, keep posting cheap so i can resell them and make gold from you.
Its really a programming error. Mat collectors always make more gold.
But, professionals tend to have special abilities.
