I can’t respec my spent knowledge points. Don’t you dare play the game the way you want to play it you guys, b/c if you make a mistake? you are @#!@##ed. Once you go back 25 and 50 on choosing a spec, it’s insanely more difficult choosing another path.
Also, you can’t remove the profession and re learn it over again, those knowledge points SPENT are still spent. make a mistake? make an ENTIRE new character or use an alt.
This system is BEYOND bad and whoever allowed this should feel bad.
But if you’re playing the way you want, where’s the mistake? You should always play a video game the way you want as long as you’re not sabotaging others’ time.
This. You only need respec options for things you can’t max out eventually. If you could just swap around profession specializations whenever you wanted then it would make them meaningless. The point is to pick a focus at the beginning while you work on maxing everything.
I mean I learned quickly once I found out you can’t respec its better to dump for the thing you want. I started Engineering with Mechanical Mind and Inventions. Then got told Function over Form is better due to the bracers. Well now I got 40 in Mechanic Mind, 20 in Inventions, 5 in Function Over Form and 10 in Gear, now Im seeing I also need Gears for Gear. Oh well Ill just add it to the list later. Yes its not a great system but its not something to get upset over. Just play the game the way you want to and enjoy it. Dont worry about what someone says in BIS.
The one thing I don’t like about it is I have no idea where to get profession points from. It just seems like they drop from things randomly. So I don’t have anything even at 25 points in one spec tree yet.
whatever happened to people - no one can deal with setbacks, even in a game where it makes no difference.
you can make gold whichever direction you go, you might not have chosen the most ideal direction but it doesn’t matter. And you shouldn’t have put 50 points in before realizing you made a mistake…
There should be a way to respec but it should be on a long cool down and require some effort to do. Otherwise the system is pointless and people would just switch their “mastery” whenever it benefited them.
Why do I have to use a guide from a third party site to understand a system that should be simple? If it requires me to look stuff up Blizzard has failed in that design.
so let me get this straight, because you had to use your brain and they dont want you flooding a market with 1 material with out doing a slight bit of research… its bad?
I personally think they should go MORE indepth and still not allow respeccing, make people commit, commitment is something everyone should have in an MMORPG otherwise you are just a classic andy looking for hand outs on a game that nobody really wants
Its not well explained so here let me tell you. The first time you craft something you will get a point for its first craft. Depending on what your professions are you will get random items from said profession like if your a miner youll get things that you can use to gain points here and there. You also get points from the Darkmoon Faire and doing the quests in Valdrakken. As you level with the Artisan Consortium you can get books that give you larger amounts of points too. Hope that helps.
you don’t need to use a guide you can figure it all out yourself if you explore and play the game but if you aren’t interested in exploring and playing the entire game - guess what cheat sheets for you are available.
They designed the professions this way to keep players spending a enormous amount of time in game which equals you stay and pay your monthly subscription. There was no reason to make the professions this difficult other than blizzs end result…which we all know what that is!
