What is the difference in +1 mining skill and +1 mining level? I took Iron claw specialization under plethora of ores and it says “gain +1 skill when mining any Ironclaw deposit”. I took that to mean mining level increase, but these deposits are not increasing my mining level. So can anyone tell me what skill I am actually increasing?
Mining Level is simply a progression system for mining. Each point of Level gives you mining skill, and you learn a new mining specialization every 25 levels, for the first three increments. That’s pretty much it. Spending your knowledge points can give you more mining skill, over 100. The more skill you have, the more likely you are are to get higher rank mining materials.
So…When I mine the Ironclaw, I am still not clear as to what the +1 skill is affecting?
It means you have a higher chance to get rank 2 or 3 ironclaw ore instead of just rank 1. We don’t know exactly how much it increases the chance.
So…I have to pretty much take Blizz’s word for the increase.
Look in your mining journal, look at simple plain Bismith, you will see a difficulty rating and a skill rating, the better your skill compared to the difficulty the more regular higher grade is rewarded
I have Bismuth nearly maxed in the tree. I noticed I usually get rank 2 Bismuth. I occasionally get Rank 3. It sells for quite a bit.
Oh yeah, there’s a difficulty number too. I forgot.
ty…makes a little more sense now.
