Ok so the knowledge point exploits have been around now and have completely tanked the economy. Can we get knowledge point resets for those of us who were speccing into the concentration builds whose knowledge is now effectively worthless so we can respec into something else?
Blizz don’t care about us.
The knowledge point exploits did not tank the economy lol
There’s no thaumaturgy. Prices for things that are easy to get were always going to tank by week 2, because thaumaturgy isn’t there to smooth things out. I told you all this before the expansion started. Honestly surprised that some things are still hanging in there.
Second, there are things that are tanking because blizzard added more sources for them. Petrified root, for example.
Third, things are tanking because people are leveling with blue tools/enchants and selling them on the AH rather than naturally selling them to those who need it. Since they are desperate to recoup costs, desperate = loses money, they’re selling under costs.
Fourth, things are tanking because you need no skill to make rank 2 items. You just press the concentration button. Thus you can have a brand new 80 immediately smashing out rank 2 sterling alloys. This is a direct consequence of having two ranks rather than 3.
Fifth, due to how they increased costs to upgrade crafted gear, lowered the effectiveness of embellishments, and provided weapons on boss #1 of the raids, meaning there’s less reason to get crafted gear. Less crafted gear means less demand for reagents so there’s low demand across the board.
Sixth, they made things very easy to obtain. For example, dust can be obtained from shattering. Blue items are easy to make. There was no world where dust was going to hold its value.
The economy is not based on a few people with more kp . All that allows them to do is make more kinds of items on a single character. It didn’t give them more concentration.
All of these things, btw, are all things that players asked for.
caring about the gold economy in an mmo is kinda cringe. just buy a wow token and you beat any profit margin in the game and its always profitable
So you’re saying having anything to do with the acquisition and use of gold is cringe?
Granted, I don’t have much gold and don’t pursue it, but it’s a central - and for many primary - aspect of the game. The suggestion of “buy a wow token” proves it. So would you like to join the Cringe faction? Send me 10000g and I’ll set you right up. Honest.
PLEASE this is the LEAST they can do. I spent over 50k gold and 100 points into basic reagents for JC to craft high quality vials and lenses without concentration, but don’t have the generalist multicrafting tree also maxed out so I can’t multicraft as many as the bug abusers, and even with all this point investment, it’s a 200g LOSS per vial (1100g craft, 900g sell)
No it isn’t lol..
Not that I know of. Some people, ya, but not as a whole. Frankly I think they did good moves with professions but people don’t care what they price stuff at. It’s annoying cause it’s just a loss at most things so why even bother doing professions. It’s always been either for yourself, for others, or for gold and now the gold part is kind of gone with how much things tanked so fast for the reasons you noted.
I do agree with most of what you said, but it shouldn’t excuse any of what happened in the game.
Blizz needs to do something to those accounts or give everyone else an amount of KP to level the playing field.
Never said they should excuse them. If you read my other post about this, I said they should be banned.
My point was that these players aren’t “tanking the economy”.
Well I haven’t seen another thread you posted in, but it was just a general sentiment I’m adding to this thread anyway. Not a criticism of leaving that out or anything.
And yeah they aren’t tanking the economy, just have a large handle over things like being able to make most/all armor and weapon items that would take people longer to add to their list of completed KP.
I’m wondering if Bliiz can’t/won’t do anything, or isn’t speaking about it yet, because they also have to deal with people benefiting from the crafters making all these things they’ve all equipped by now.
Blizzard does not announce their enforcement actions, so we’ll never know unless they come to the forums to complain about being “unfairly banned”.
Well as long as I keep seeing the local crafter that has “all items max” in trade I’ll know they didn’t do anything
Not necessarily. For example, I can probably make most items from pretty much any profession at max. It’s not because I cheated, it’s because for a good chunk of my crafting alts I haven’t slotted any points. So I’m sitting there with maybe 80 or 90 unspent knowledge points. You ask me for a leather pants, I can slot whatever the minimum points I need to R5 it and make a pants. Also I can take advantage of the fact that I can straight up BUY +50 skill as a finishing reagent to keep some of my points free… Then once spent, just hop to another alt who has all their points free. It’s also because.. I have like 24 crafting alts lol
Looks like they suspended exploiters for a week and reset their knowledge as per wowhead.
Not nearly a severe enough punishment imo.
You are right, the mining weekly quest Stoking the Staples no Dazzling Thorium around but the A.H. has 40000 for sale .Don’t tell me Blizz that you are not aware of that
