I collected the profession knowledge items from the various zones in TWW. Upon using them (+3 or +2 in profession knowledge) the items were consumed but no skill increase granted. Tried with all items in my bag and all failed to grant the increase to skill. For reference I was on my Rogue and he has the herbalism and JC professions. At the time I used the items I was 21/100 in herbalism and 1/100 with JC. I also waited until I hit lvl 80 before using the skillups.
Profession knowledge items don’t give profession skill, they give… profession knowledge… which you can’t start using until your first unlock at 25/100
