Profession Choice

Looking for opinions on what you think is the smartest professions for mage for phase 1. I was thinking engineering/mining because I love pvp, but can’t stop wondering if tailoring/enchanting will be smarter for the beginning. I could make gear along the way and at 60, but won’t have the best gadgets for pvp. Thoughts?

Super excited for classic btw. Hope to make some friends who love the game as much as I do.

Tailoring/Enchanting is going to a net drain on your wallet until 60.
Mining/Engineering at least lets you sell ores/bars you’re not using to level your Engineering skill.

Tailoring is not a particularly profitable profession. You can stand around selling wool and silk bags, if you want to waste time for very low margins. If you’re concerned about the set bonus for the Bloodvine gear … well, you wont need/have that until Level 60/ZG anyway.

Enchanting will make money at Level 60, but you’re not going to be making much money pre-60, unless you seriously think standing around in a city trying to sell +1 stamina enchants to low-level players is an effective use of your time.
