Just did a few 6s with it. It pumps actually. No time to do damage in kitty form tho, but the heals are great.

You get time to go kitty as your ilvl goes up. Im 611 stuck in 6s since Resto is a pariah.
Not considering cat form shenanigans, I’m even healing better than i ever did as Grove Guardian.

If it was just proc a little bit more I would pick it over the other hero talents every single time. I actually like it a lot more.

Isn’t the whole point of wild stalker to kittyweave though? Does it work without kittyweave?

Wildstalker improves both HoTs and DoTs. When you’re looking to deal damage, it works best when catweaving than using casted damage spells. But it also gives a boost to your healing output if you need that extra oomph to keep your group alive.
it’s really slow, but when you find windows, it’s pretty good to get the vines on your enemies.
I think the real issue is that the devs probably theorycrafted that Wildstalkers would prefer to take Call of the Elder Druid/Dream of Cenarius, and Keepers to take Grove Guardians/Wild synthesis…but I think they’re too afraid to make the former strong or something idk…
They need to buff those catweaving talents because they are not reliable or good enough for the amount of damage going out…so grove guardians remains a passive ez heal - like a totem, and you’re pretty much stuck casting.
Many of us called that they’d be way too safe with these re-imagined trees + hero talents, and guess it’s looking to be true. Way too predictable these days 
Yeah it works without it, the healing is better damage is bout the same. I only get to go into cat form for kicks.
